Dr. Elsie Yinka Opoola

After completing an undergraduate degree in Veterinary Medicine and a postgraduate degree in Animal Bioscience, Elsie did a PhD in Genetics and Genomics with Roslin Institute at University of Edinburgh. She built upon these experiences and got a variety of knowledge and a good balance of experience including volunteering with Greatway Foundation in Edinburgh and Next Step Initiatives in Glasgow. She has worked six years in assisting these charities to develop and implement life changing projects for the community. Currently as a post-doctoral researcher, her growing interest also include areas like academia, research, governmental and non-governmental work, policymaking and dairy farming.

Dr. Festus Ogunmola - CEO

Festus is a Chartered Accountant by training. After working as a Financial Consultant for her Majesty the Queen Mother of England at the Queen Nursing Institute and Queen Nursing Fund, joined Barclays Bank to continue his original banking career where he served as Branch Manager, Risk Manager, Compliance and financial controls. Prior to this, Festus worked in Nigeria as Senior Auditor in International Merchant Bank and Chief Inspector of Peoples Bank. In 2004 at Barclays, Festus reconciled the accounting record that led to the recovery of 14.6million pounds. In recognition of his effort, he was sponsored for his MBA at the University of Manchester Business School. Festus has been headhunted to train and implement risk management and compliance process across Europe, Middle East, and Africa for different organisations including Cummins Inc (An American Multinational Company, Royal Bank of Scotland, Sprit Inc (An Aeroplane manufacturing Company in Glasgow Prestwick) Special Adviser and consultant on revenue and budget to the Chief Executive Officer, Perth and Kinross Council, Senior Consultant, Lloyds Tsb, Senior Consultant Bank of Scotland. Festus was one of the first set of consultants to implement Sarbanes Oxley and controls and ensure its compliance in Europe, Middle East and Africa for companies listed on American Stock Exchange. Festus is the first Chief Executive of Greatway Foundation (A voluntary organisation registered by the Scottish Government to work on youth empowerment and poverty alleviation). The organisation also co-ordinates the annual conference on War Against Poverty in collaboration with Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and University of Edinburgh. He is also the first President and Chief Executive of Scottish Council of African Churches (An established executive body that works in partnership with the Scottish government, different religious organisation, agencies and institutions of learning). Festus hold a PhD in Finance from California State University, MBA Finance from the University of Manchester and MBCI from the Business Continuity Institute United Kingdom. He is also a member of Harvard School of Divinity summer leadership program.

Dr. Timie Lar Ogunmola

Dr. Timie C Lar-Ogunmola is a seasoned teacher, lecturer, researcher and mentor. She is a director with Greatway Foundation, and a resource person with City of Edinburgh Council. A Leader and mentor in the African Women community in Edinburgh. She was seconded to Brunel University and University of Northampton as a visiting lecturer and researcher. She was a former Director General and also doubled up as Commissioner (Women Affairs) and Chairperson for "Better Life for rural dwellers" programmes in Plateau State, Nigeria where she pioneered and built a widowhood vocational training centre in Mangu village. This centre is still benefiting female-headed households in parts of rural Nigeria. Timie was also a Lecturer in Education and Career Guidance at the University of Jos, Nigeria. She is well published and has led talks and delivered papers in local and international conferences. A former head girl and best graduating student of St. Louis College, Jos. She obtained her first Degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Master's at the University of Jos, Nigeria, and her PhD from University of Nottingham, U K. Timie is very vast in philanthropic projects.

Kenneth Coneach McCleod

Kenneth has delivered several humanitarian projects that has benefitted the community in Scotland. He has a basic technical background and strong community leadership. Kenneth started work with Greatway Foundation in 2010 as a volunteer worker.

Roger Horam

Job Titles:

Roger headed up Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce's Projects and Partnerships team for over 12 years, providing specialist consultancy and training services to the public, private and voluntary sectors throughout the UK and Europe. A highly experienced project manager, he has specialist knowledge of mainstream, publicly-funded business support services and has been instrumental in delivering a range of government-funded projects to meet the training and development needs of creative businesses and individuals. He is also responsible for developing, managing and/or delivering ‘special projects' accessing a plethora of Transnational, National, Regional and Local public funding. Roger's core expertise is e-business working with thousands of businesses over a 10 year period, but his core passion is inclusion and social justice and he has worked tirelessly to ensure an equitable society based on market forces. To this end he has accessed funds to deliver business support and training for under-represented and disadvantaged groups such as ethnic minorities, youth, older people, females and people disadvantaged because of where they live In Scotland, Roger is amongst the top 5 experts in accessing funding for the public and NGO sectors and is used by a number of agencies. Roger has an MSc (with Distinction) in Hospitality (Information Technology) Management and is working towards a PhD.
