Dominic Minghella

Island Pictures Co-Founder, Dominic Minghella started his career as script editor and writer on Hamish Macbeth (BBC), starring Robert Carlyle, and went on to write, create and produce hit drama series which have been admired around the world. Dominic wrote and created Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes for ITV/Buffalo Pictures. In its first series, Doc Martin averaged a whopping 40% audience share. It went on to win Best Comedy Drama at the Comedy Awards and the curmudgeonly doctor remains a star of the ITV drama schedules, and around the world. Dominic was also Executive Producer and Showrunner of Series One and Series Two (26 episodes). For its distributors, BBC WorldWide, Robin Hood was the top selling drama around the world. Dominic is Producer with Sarah Beardsall of Island Pictures' film adaptation of The Scapegoat (2012), based on the novel by Daphne du Maurier, starring Matthew Rhys, Eileen Atkins, Anton Lesser, Jodhi May, Phoebe Nicholls, Andrew Scott, Sheridan Smith, Sylvie Testud, Pip Torrens, and written and directed by Charles Sturridge. In addition to his drama work, Dominic works alongside Mark Lucas and our friends at Silverfish Media, on projects for charitable and political causes. In December 2018, Dominic wrote and directed the viral smash We Wants It, starring Andy Serkis, produced by Mark Lucas and Silverfish. Dominic is a member of the Writers' Guild of America, West (WGAW). For the Writers' Guild of Great Britain (WGGB), he has served on the Executive Council of the Writers' Guild, and the Film Committee. He is a member of BAFTA and has served on a variety of film and television juries. He has mentored writers at home and abroad. He has lectured when he should have listened, and listened when he should have piped up. He is evangelical about the Isle of Wight, where he grew up, and about Umbria, where he goes to write. Lastly, but never leastly, he is a loud, proud fan (and former owner, with a few thousand others) of Portsmouth Football Club.

SHANNON FAIRCHILD

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas to two Texans and raised in the great cities of the rust belt, Detroit & Cleveland, Shannon Fairchild took a Masters degree in Creative Writing and has been involved with storytelling, in one form or another, ever since. She worked in marketing communications in NYC for several years before moving to London, where she earned a PhD in Theatre and Dramatic Arts and spent nearly a decade as Co-Artistic Director of London-based Eclectic Theatre Company. Following this, she retreated to rural New Hampshire where she was the Area Team Leader for Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign whilst running her apple orchard and inn. Returning to London in 2014, she worked in programming for "Ways with Words" literary festivals, then as a reader and IP-scout for Chloe Dunbar, Development Executive at Channel 4 and Head of Development at Hera Pictures. In early 2018, Shannon started working with Island Pictures where she is currently Development Executive.
