Craig Smith

Craig advises on all aspects of construction and engineering works. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts and ancillary documents including bonds, guarantees, collateral warranties and professional appointments. Many of the projects have also involved drafting and negotiating joint venture, partnering and framework agreements. Craig has handled a wide range of construction and engineering disputes through the courts, expert determination, adjudication and mediation. He also advises on energy, projects, professional negligence, procurement, property development and commercial litigation.

Hannah Wallington

Hannah qualified as a Solicitor in July 2007 after training with the firm. She was appointed as a Partner on 1 September 2016. Hannah has a broad commercial and litigation practice and she works closely with partners Lee Hamer and Craig Smith. She specialises in dispute resolution whether by way of Court proceedings, mediation or adjudication and has significant experience in several areas of law to include matrimonial finance, property disputes, landlord and tenant and construction, employment, insolvency and bankruptcy, professional negligence and general chancery matters. As such, Hannah is able to offer a wide ranging service to the firm's private and business clients. Hannah also undertakes non-contentious corporate work and is able to advise on the incorporation of limited companies, charities and charitable incorporated organisations. Her extensive litigation experience is very useful when it comes to analysing and negotiating contracts and other documents on behalf of her clients. Hannah is a member of the Bristol Law Society and the Anchor Society.

Hayley Turner

Hayley joined Bennetts in February 2010. She trained with the firm and qualified as a solicitor in March 2013. Hayley specialises in Property and Commercial Law acting for both private and business clients. During her time with Bennetts, Hayley has worked extensively in residential, agricultural and commercial property matters and in corporate and business transactions. She works with Francis Montagu and augments our strong commercial and property departments.

June has been qualified for over 20 years. She is experienced in all aspects of residential conveyancing work and also assists Francis Montagu in commercial transactions including both conveyancing and company secretarial work.

Kay Dawson

Kay was called to the Bar as a Barrister in July 2003. In August 2009, Kay then qualified as a Solicitor. Kay was appointed as a Partner on 1 January 2023. Kay joined Bennetts in July 2016 and will continue her practice in a broad range of private client work, including administration of estates, trusts, tax, Wills and Powers of Attorney and offering advice on a range of elderly client issues. She is particularly interested in matters involving agricultural assets. Kay is a member of the Private Client Section of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Devon and Cornwall Law Society (DASLA).

Lee Hamer

Lee came to Bennetts in 2001 and became a partner in 2007. Lee acts for both private and business clients, primarily owner-managed businesses. As such Lee is able to advise on a broad range of issues affecting businesses, from start-up to dissolution and his practice emphasises on commercial litigation and dispute resolution work, either through court proceedings or mediation. Lee is particularly interested in and specialises in, disputes between partners and shareholders/directors to include claims involving breach of fiduciary duty, minority shareholder's actions, and professional negligence actions.

Lynne Dawson

Lynne is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and joined Bennetts in October 2017. She deals with a wide range of Private Client work including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate, Trusts, Tax and Elderly Client matters. She is particularly interested in matters concerning inheritance, capital gains and income tax.
