Matthew Minns Research Consultancy has been active since 2009. With 22 years' experience as a successful researcher, communications consultant and project manager I have worked at a director level for top agencies managing all aspects of research projects, winning new business and building relationships with clients. I started Matthew Minns Research Consultant to meet a need for high quality research, by experienced researchers without the big agency costs. I've researched a huge range of subjects ranging from sex selection policy for the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority to Nike fitness applications for mobile devices. Run car clinics for VW in Bolton and evaluated BBC events in Swansea. Developed campaigns to prevent pregnant smoking and helped Samsung create the future of mobile phones. Honed online security procedures for banks and explored attitudes to autonomous cars. I began my career in the BBC's Audience Research Department (BARB) and have since held directorships at Kindle Research and Counterpoint Research before becoming an independent consultant. As an independent researcher I now work closely with a range of research agencies, businesses and government departments. My experience as a research director alongside my practice within the community bridge the divide between research, the community and social change. Many of my projects focus on technology, health, education, communications, evaluation and social policy and entail working with organisations that support the education and social care sectors. I have extensive experience liaising with health and education professionals, local authorities and organisations from the public, community and voluntary sectors as well as with the private sector. I am especially interested in technology, community based participatory research and improving outcomes for young people. Committed to improving opportunities for young people and disadvantaged groups through voluntary work and arts I have founded two not for profit organisations, Spectral Arts and Hedgehog Herbs. Both focus on engaging young people and local communities with arts and performance related activities, creating opportunities for people to access and learn about nature and environmental issues and to improve their health.
