Adrian Snarr

Adrian is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He has over 35 years experience in the NHS, including numerous board level positions in NHS provider and commissioning organisations, and was most recently director of financial control at NHS England. As with other Board members, Adrian aims to ensure we set the right objectives and ensure our financial resources are maximised to support the needs of our service users, patients, families and carers, and communities. He is responsible for finance, estates and facilities, performance and contracting, and IM&T.

Andy Sedgwick

Andy has worked in the NHS for over 12 years. Initially his role was as a support,time and recovery worker for Insight, an early intervention service for people experiencing psychosis. Now he is a clinical research officer for the research and development team. Andy has extensive experience working with individuals who suffer from serious mental health conditions as well as families and services who provide care and treatment. This experience is incredibly helpful for supporting service users, carers and other individuals into studies and research. Andy's main hobby outside of work is recording and editing videos for amateur projects and home movies. He also enjoys travelling, photography, music and video games.

Aysia Ilyas

Aysia joined the team in October 2021. Being trained as a psychological wellbeing practitioner, Aysia, has previous experience of working therapeutically on a 1:1 and group basis with clients presenting with mental health conditions. Having worked across a range of mental health services in both NHS and non-NHS settings this has enabled her to increase her skills and knowledge of working with diverse range of clients and mental health conditions. Aysia's current role involves working with studies and to collaboratively work with services to improve research engagement. Aysia's personal interest is health and wellbeing. She enjoys treating herself outside of work and enjoys her regular spa treats!

Carol Harris - COO

Carol brings solid operational leadership experience following her time as a director of operations. This is coupled with her professional leadership experience, having worked as an interim chief nurse. Originally qualifying as a mental health nurse in 1987 Carol has worked in a wide range of roles across mental health services. This means she has in-depth practical knowledge of challenges faced by services as well as by people who use services and their carers. Carol is responsible for operations across all districts and services.

Darryl Thompson

Since qualifying as a mental health nurse in 1991, Darryl has held a range of clinical and leadership roles. He originally joined the Trust as a community psychiatric nurse in 2002, and returned in 2020 after four years as the deputy director of nursing and quality governance in Derbyshire. Darryl is a Health Foundation Fellow, and previously contributed to guideline and quality standard development at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). He is committed to quality improvement and co-production. Darryl is accountable for clinical governance, safety, infection prevention and control and non-medical professional leadership at the Trust.

David Webster

David is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and an executive director of Horizon Platforms Ltd, an employee owned business based in Normanton. David has developed his career in finance across a number of industries within the private sector, including with household names such as Marks and Spencer and Virgin Media. Through this, David has gained particular expertise in financial planning and analysis and commercial finance, whilst also being involved in strategic planning and technological development projects. In addition, David holds a voluntary non-executive trustee director role with The Mast Academy Trust, where he has been involved since 2020. David also has a degree in natural sciences, majoring in psychology, and has a real passion for people development, employee engagement and wellbeing.

Debby Walker

Debby has been with the Team since December 2021, having been seconded from Pastoral Care, where she worked for 8 years. Debby has had a varied secretarial career, working in the legal sector and education and working as a call handler with West Yorkshire Police for several years before starting work at the Trust.

Dr Emmanuel Nwofe

Emmanuel is a community leader with vast experience in community integration, social cohesion, and diversity. Emmanuel has a background in journalism and public relations, with a varied career as a lecturer in higher education, a researcher, and a support worker in the mental health setting. Emmanuel is currently involved in the GPS and Trauma-Informed Personality Disorder studies as a research assistant, committing to the recruitment of participants, data collection and analysis. Outside of work, Emmanuel enjoys playing Squash and outdoor activities with family and friends.

Dr Mohinder Kapoor

Dr Mohinder Kapoor is a consultant psychiatrist and has worked in the NHS for 22 years, specialising in Old Age Psychiatry in South Kirklees, Trust medical investigator and appraiser. Dr Kapoor joined the team in January 2022, as the associate medical director for the research and development team. This is a key role in driving forward the research agenda within the Trust and continuing to raise the profile of the Trust's research capabilities nationally, through clinical research networks. Dr Kapoor was formerly a foundation training programme director at Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber and clinical lead for older people's services in Calderdale and Kirklees. He is an experienced consultant with a Membership of Royal College of Psychiatry, Master's in Public Health, Diploma in Psychiatry and Post Graduate Certificate in Health Research from University of Leeds. Dr Kapoor's main hobby outside of work is playing cricket. He also enjoys travelling, music and spending time with his family.

Dr Subha Thiyagesh

Subha was appointed as medical director in April 2018, having previously been deputy medical director and a consultant in older people's services in Calderdale and Kirklees. Since receiving her Doctorate in Medicine in the dementia field from the University of Sheffield Subha has held a number of posts including being appointed to the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Board of Examiners and as a national peer reviewer of the Memory Service National Accreditation Programme. Subha is the clinical lead for our older people's change programme and has been leading the development of our medical workforce strategy. In January Subha was awarded the Nye Bevan NHS Leadership Academy Award in Executive Healthcare Leadership and was the winner of the Leader of the Year award in our Trust's Excellence awards in 2016.

Dr Wajid Khan

Wajid has worked in the NHS and health care setting for over 18 years building extensive experience in clinical, research and teaching practices. Wajid joined the team in 2015 having previously worked in the clinical psychology team in Wakefield and North Kirklees alongside a teaching and research role at the University of Huddersfield. Within Wajid's current role, he manages a progressive team of researchers who work across the Trust and University partners supporting clinical colleagues to engage and develop their research capacity and aspirations.

Dr. Osahon Ogbeiwi

Currently, he is involved in the recruitment of study participants for the study of Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) and is doing a systematic literature review for the proposed Secret Story Network (SSN) study of the therapeutic use of a digital storytelling and game role-playing app to support improvement of mental health and wellbeing.

Erfana Mahmood

Greg Moores - CHRO

Greg joined our Trust in April 2022, having held senior People/HR roles in the NHS since 2010, working at director level in mental health, community, and acute hospital settings. Prior to joining the NHS Greg worked in local government, after spending his early career in the private sector. Greg holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. Greg firmly believes that front-line teams should be in the driving seat, and he is committed to empowering staff to deliver change and removing the obstacles that can slow down transformation. He is passionate about apprenticeships, diversity, and team-based working.

Helen Carter

Helen has worked with the team since the department was established in 2011 having moved over from a clinical service. She has extensive and varied admin experience having previously worked in advertising and motorway services before joining the Trust in 2009.

Kate Quail

With a strong background at local and national level, working with charities and voluntary and community sector organisations, Kate brings rich expertise to the Trust. This includes change management and involving people to improve the quality of services. Kate led two national support teams at the Department of Health. This included the national support team for children and young people's emotional wellbeing and mental health which worked with Local Authorities, health organisations and voluntary and community sector partners to achieve better outcomes for children and young people. Kate has a clinical background (a nurse, along with a degree in psychology) and has held various charity non-executive board roles including Royal Mencap Society and the Sheffield Parent Carer Forum. She was lead governor at Sheffield Children's Hospital, and joint chair of the council of governors. She is also an expert advisor carrying out NHS England's care and treatment reviews. Lisa Horner

Mandy Rayner

Marie Burnham - Chairman

Before becoming chair of the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Marie was the independent lay chair for the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Joint Committee, which is made up of five clinical commissioning groups and is part of the area's integrated care system. Marie has a wealth of expertise and understanding regarding the importance of joined up care for people and communities across all health and social care sectors, which includes being the independent chair of the Central Lancashire Integrated Care Partnership since 2018. Other roles include being the committee chair for NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) the most recent included chairing the Weight Management Committee. Marie is also the chair of Pennine Trust Academy of Schools, where she has worked on a volunteer basis since 2017. Marie brings with her over 30 years of leadership experience from health services and the charitable sector, including NHS executive and non-executive roles with responsibility for performance and governance. Prior to this she was a registered nurse.

Mark Brooks - CEO

Mark was appointed as our chief executive in February 2022 following a period as interim chief executive from July 2021. Prior to this, Mark had been our director of finance and resources since joining the Trust in June 2016. Mark is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He joined the NHS in 2009 and has a background in mental health and community services. Before this he enjoyed a career in the private sector, which included a number of UK and international senior finance roles at Smith & Nephew, before joining Symmetry Medical as European chief financial officer. Along with the rest of the Board Mark is responsible for setting the right objectives and providing the resources and support to meet the needs of our service users, patients, families and carers, and communities.

Mark Harper

Mark has a varied career as a nursing auxiliary, support worker and STR worker within mental and physical health services prior to becoming a clinical research officer. Mark has extensive experience across a range of research topics, delivering on a variety of areas in mental health. He promotes involvement in research by engaging with service users, staff, families and carers. He has an interest in improving the lives of others and service development through high quality research and has a particular interest in physical activity and mental wellbeing. Outside of work Mark enjoys digital art, painting, running, playing the Nintendo Switch, tropical plants and gardens.

Michael Doyle

Professor Michael Doyle is professor of mental health at the University of Huddersfield, a joint appointment with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and an honorary clinical chair in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, at the University of Manchester. He has worked in mental health services for over 30 years. Previously accredited by the BABCP as a CBT therapist and worked as nurse consultant specialising in clinical risk in forensic services. He is former president of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services. He has attracted significant research funding and published and presented widely on psychosocial risk assessment, formulation and interventions, forensic mental health nursing and related subjects. He led the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership suicide prevention advisory network from 2016 to December 2020 developing an evidence-based strategy for the area that attracted substantial funding for public health, health, social care and allied services.

Mike Ford

Mike is a qualified accountant with a successful track record at senior level in both commercial and public sector organisations. Most recently he was a senior executive at the BBC with roles in finance, internal audit, risk management and technology. Mike was also regularly involved in the promotion of inclusivity and diversity across the BBC with a specific focus on disability as well as being regularly involved in sensitive and complex support at work initiatives.

Natalie McMillan

Nat is a human resources (HR) and organisational development (OD) professional with significant board-level experience across the NHS. She has previously enjoyed over 10 years at York Hospitals FT and more recently at Locala Community Partnerships. Nat now runs her own business specialising in HR and OD. Nat continues to play a role in the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership as chair of the Primary Care Workforce group. She is passionate about reducing inequalities and growing diverse representation. This has led her to her current role of as Chair of Kyra, a women's project based in York.

Nirmala Ragbir-Day

Nirmala has a varied career in research, education, and healthcare and has worked for the Trust for over 12 years with the pastoral and spiritual care team, delivering spiritual training and development to staff, service users and carers. She joined the R&D team as a clinical research officer in 2021 supporting various research projects to help enhance person-centred care for people with severe mental health challenges. She strongly believes research can help inform policies to improve people's quality of life and wellbeing. Nirmala also works with charities in promoting spirituality in healthcare with value-based training and development projects. She is actively involved in environmental awareness and in helping people to experience greater well-being through inner peace and universal values. Outside of work she enjoys meditation, gardening and taking walks in the countryside.

Rosie Henderson

Rosie has a background in research spanning 18 years. She has worked on research projects to help enhance person-centred care for people living with Dementia. Rosie re-joined the NHS as part of the R&D team in Sept 2020 and enjoys a varied role helping to support various mental health-based projects. In her personal life, Rosie has trained as a reflexologist and is passionate about aromatherapy, having enrolled on a professional diploma course. She enjoys spending time with her family and her cats, being in the countryside and has a creative streak.

Sabina Maas

Salma Yasmeen

Salma is a mental health nurse by background, with a strong track record in transformation, innovation and developing partnerships. Previously director of nursing services and transformation at King Fahad Medical City in Saudi Arabia, and deputy director at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Salma was responsible for the mental and physical health care of older people across four London boroughs. As a former chief executive of Bradford-based third sector organisation Sharing Voices, Salma implemented innovative ways of engaging black and minority ethnic communities in local mental health services. She successfully worked in partnership with a range of organisations to take the charity from strength to strength during her three-year leadership. Salma supports the Trust Board to set the strategy and strategic direction including priorities for the Trust. She plays a key role in strategic partnership developments in our places and systems and her portfolio also includes leading the integrated change team; marketing, communications, involvement and inclusion teams, and library and knowledge management services. She is also the executive lead for our charities and the equality involvement and inclusion committee.

Sean Rayner

Over half of Sean's 35 year career with the NHS has been working as an executive director meaning he brings wide ranging leadership skills.
