Chris Colbourne

Chris is a Mining Engineer with over 30 years of experience across the globe in the technical, operational and management of mines. Prior to joining CAML, Chris was Mining Director at Norgold, working on supporting, guiding, and improving mining operations across all underground and open pit assets for the company. Chris has also held senior roles at Rio Tinto where he worked for over 14 years and the Balla Balla Infrastructure Group. Chris has a B.Eng. Honours Degree in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines and Master of Science Degree in Mineral Economics from the Curtin University of Technology & Western Australian School of Mines, Australia. He is also a Registered Chartered Engineer with the Engineer Council in London, and a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa.

David Swan

David is a chartered accountant. He has extensive experience across the natural resources sector. He also has wide experience geographically in Australia, Europe, Central Asia Africa, the US and on international as well as UK stock exchanges. David has been involved in numerous corporate transactions, including IPOs, RTOs, mergers and acquisitions, and project funding. Operational experience has included exploration, mine start-up, open cast, and underground mining operations. He was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Tigers Realm Coal, Sunrise Resources and Oriel Resources. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of WA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (‘ICAANZ') and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (‘ICAEW'). David joined CAML in June 2014.

Dr Gillian Davidson

Gillian has over 25 years of sustainability experience in the extractives and natural resources sectors. She is an independent sustainability advisor and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of New Gold, Lundin Gold and Horizonte Minerals plc. She is also and executive board member of the Global Battery Alliance and Chair of International Women in Mining. Gillian was, until 2017, Head of Mining & Metals at the World Economic Forum, leading global and regional initiatives for responsible and sustainable development. Prior to this, she was Director of Social Responsibility at Teck Resources. She has previously held senior roles in mining companies, government, academia and consultancy. Gillian holds an MA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Glasgow, a PhD in Development Economics and Economic Geography from the University of Liverpool and is an alumnus of the Governor General of Canada's Leadership Conference. Gillian joined the Company in December 2019.

Dr Mike Armitage

Mike has some thirty-five years' experience in the mining industry. He spent his early career working underground as a geologist in South Africa and then completed his PhD assessing alternative methods of reserve estimation at the Renco Mine in Zimbabwe. He then joined SRK Consulting in 1991 and over the next thirty years held various technical and management roles before leaving in early 2022. These roles included being Managing Director and Chairman of SRK's UK practice and Chairman of SRK's Russia and Kazakhstan practices. He also spent six years as Chairman of SRK Global. He is also a founding director of Sarn Helen Gold and is currently a Non-Executive Director of Tertiary Minerals. Mike spent many years as joint course co-ordinator of a MSc in Mineral Resources at Cardiff University and then as external examiner for the MSc in Metals and Energy Finance at Imperial College, University of London. He has also been a council member and Vice President of the Geological Society and is currently Chairman of the Applied Earth Science Division of IOM3 and Honorary Chairman of the Critical Minerals Association. Mike Joined CAML in January 2022.

Gavin Ferrar - CFO

Gavin holds post-graduate degrees in geology and finance and has been involved in the mining sector for 21 years. His career in industry began at Anglo American in the New Mining Business Division. He spent 10 years in the investment banking sector focusing on equity and debt financing for junior and major mining clients of Barclays Capital and Investec. Since 2011, he has worked with junior mining companies arranging finance and providing corporate advisory services before joining CAML in June 2014 as Business Development Director. In April 2018, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer.

Howard Nicholson - CTO

Howard is a metallurgist with 35 years of experience in project development and mine operations management. Formerly the COO of European Minerals Corporation, he contributed to the development of a large copper-gold mine in Kazakhstan, and prior to this had held senior management positions with Ashanti Goldfields, Lonrho, and Anglo American.

Ivica Talevski

Ivica joined the procurement department at Sasa in 2016 and was promoted to Commercial Director in 2018. Prior to working at Sasa, he held senior procurement roles with SGSM whilst that group was constructing a key strategic gas pipeline in North Macedonia. Ivica previously spent almost five years working in procurement and supply management with US company, KBR, which was awarded a logistics contract by the US Government and the Department of Defence in order to support armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ivica holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a MBA, and was appointed Sasa's Deputy General Director in 2020.

Louise Wrathall

Louise spent much of her early career working for almost 10 years as a mining equity analyst focused on London-listed companies. Most recently in this role, she worked as part of the research team at Investec covering a wide range of companies including those in the FTSE100 index, as well as junior miners and explorers. Louise has a degree in geology from the University of Liverpool and a Master's degree in mining geology from the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter. Louise joined CAML in 2015, and was appointed to the CAML Board of Directors in May 2022.

Mike Prentis

Chairman of the Remuneration Committee Mike has 33 years of investment management experience, most recently at BlackRock where he was a Managing Director and Fund Manager. For many years he managed funds investing in listed UK small and mid-cap companies. These funds included BlackRock Smaller Companies Trust plc (2002 to 2019) and BlackRock Throgmorton Trust plc (2008 to 2018), both now FTSE250 constituents. He was Head of the BlackRock UK Small and Mid-Cap Equities Team (2015 to 2017). Previously, he worked in private equity, mainly helping to put together management buyouts; he was a Local Director for 3i Group plc. He has a degree in geography from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) prior to commencing his investment management career. He is also a non-executive director of Invesco Perpetual UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc. Mike Joined CAML in March 2021.

Nick Clarke - Chairman

Nick has over 40 years of mining experience, including 16 years spent within senior management positions in production and technical services in South Africa, Ghana and Saudi Arabia. Nick served as Managing Director of Oriel Resources until its acquisition by OAO Mechel for $1.5 billion in 2008. In addition, Nick was Managing Director at Wardell Armstrong International, where he managed numerous multidisciplinary consulting projects in the resource sector. He is a graduate of Camborne School of Mines a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, IOM3. In 2013, Nick was named CEO of the year at the Mining Journal outstanding achievements awards. He joined CAML in 2009 as Chief Executive Officer prior to the Company's IPO in 2010, and assumed the role of Chairman in June 2016. He joined the Board of Caledonia Mining as a Non-Executive Director in September 2019.

Nick Shirley

Nick has over 20 years of experience in the fields of environmental sciences, social responsibility and hydrogeology gained predominately in the international overseas mining industry in Central Asia, the Former Soviet Union and West Africa. He has formerly worked for the Environment Agency in the United Kingdom, Avocet Mining, Newmont-BHP's joint venture Society De la Mine de Fer de Guinea, and Orsu Metals as well as operating his own consultancy practice. Nick holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences and a MSc in Hydrogeology from the University of East Anglia.

Nigel Robinson - CEO

Nigel is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and was formerly a Royal Naval Officer in the Fleet Air Arm. Upon leaving the Royal Navy, he qualified with KPMG where he stayed for a further three years before leaving to work in commerce. He worked for six years in management with British Airways before leaving in 2002. He joined CAML in 2007, became CFO of the Group in 2009 and has been instrumental in developing the business. In April 2018, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Nurlan Zhakupov

Nurlan Zhakupov, based in Kazakhstan, is not considered fully independent having received share awards from the Company in 2017. Nurlan is a Kazakh national and currently works in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer of Kazakhstan Investment Development Fund ("KIDF"). He has extensive experience in capital markets and has held positions at Rothschild & Co Global Advisory team UBS and RBS. Most recently, he was CEO of SPK Astana, a Kazakh regional development institution. He has previously held a number of positions in the Kazakhstan resource sector for Kazatomprom, Tau-Ken Samruk (the national mining company), Chambishi Metals and ENRC. He holds bachelor and master's degrees in economics from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations. Nurlan joined the Company in October 2011.

Pavel Semenchenko

With over 17 years' experience of managing businesses in Kazakhstan and a proven track record in the resources industry, Pavel has excellent management skills and an in-depth knowledge of the country's business environment.

Raulan Kozgambayev

Raulan is an economist with a degree from the Kazakh State Academy of Management. He has significant experience in the Kazakhstan mining industry and joined CAML in 2013 as Kounrad's lead economist. Raulan was appointed Deputy General Director of the Kounrad operation in 2018. He is a Kazakh national.

Roger Davey

Roger, a Chartered Engineer, has over 40 years of operational experience at senior management and director level in the international mining industry covering financing, feasibility studies, construction, development, commissioning and operational management of both underground and surface mining operations in gold and base metals. He is also a non-executive director of a number of other companies in the mining sector quoted on AIM and the Main Market, namely Atalaya Mining where he serves as Chairman, Tharisa and Highfield Resources. Until 2010, he was an Assistant Director and the Senior Mining Engineer at N. M. Rothschild in the mining and metals project finance team. Previously, he held senior management and director level roles in mining companies in South America and Africa as well as the UK . Roger holds a Master of Science in Mineral Production Management from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London and a Master of Science in Water Resource Management and Water Environment from Bournemouth University. He is an Associate of the Camborne School of Mines (‘ACSM'), a Chartered Engineer, a European Engineer and a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, IOM3. Roger joined the Company in December 2015.

Scott Yelland - COO

Scott is a mining engineer with over 35 years' experience in underground and surface mining operations. Before joining CAML, he was COO of Shanta Gold and has previously held senior executive roles with Konkola Copper Mines, Highland Gold Mining, Forte Energy and Berkeley Resources. Scott has a Master's degree in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines, and started his career working in the Cornish tin mines. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
