Alvin Ieong

Alvin is a principal optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and glaucoma clinic lead at St Georges Hospital Tooting. His current clinics include glaucoma, Lasik/refractive surgery, paediatrics, medical contact lens and casualty. He performs a laser list inclusive of capsulotomy after cataract surgery, laser iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty for glaucoma treatment at St Georges Hospital. He has supervised pre-registration students since qualifying in 1995 and has several publications in peer reviewed ophthalmology journals.

Cat Spear

Cat, the newest member of our team, joined us in November 2020. She passed the ABDO Optical Assistant course in summer 2021, and is now training to dispense.

Jackie Cook

Jackie has been with us several year. She has lots of enthusiasm, good humour and has become a great member of the team. She is very knowledgable on the running of the practice and works with us on a Thursday and Friday.

Karen Walsh

Karen works Monday to Wednesdays on Reception. When she is on duty, the practice runs seamlessly and she makes life very easy for the practitioners and pleasant for the patients.

Melissa Patel

Melissa is our Friday Optometrist and has fitted into the practice very well. She is clinically excellent and has an empathetic manner. She likes having the opportunity to work with our equipment.

Sally Nethercott

Tanya Bourton

Tanya has been with us since 2016, she was originally employed as a receptionist on a part time basis helping us with all our patient enquiries. Recently Tanya has also taken over a bookkeeping roll, making sure our accounts and invoices are all up to date. Another valuable member of our team.

Two Masketeers

We would like to give a big thank you to all our patients and friends who have helped support various charities by purchasing a mask covering hand made by Karen and Tanya, two members of our staff at Nethercotts Opticians Karen and Tanya have personally purchased all the materials, trimmings and have so far made over two hundred masks for us all to wear during this pandemic and are continuing still to make more. They have managed to raise over £2,500 so far with 100% of all money taken going towards the various charities. The Royal British Legion, Air Ambulance ( Kent, Surrey and Sussex ) Marie Curie, the K9 partners support dogs and the Royal National Institute of the blind ( RNIB ) have all received donations from their hard work.
