We are situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, in Patterdale close to Ullswater and Helvellyn, and within easy reach of Windermere, Ambleside and all the main towns and villages of the Lakes. Ideal for hill walkers, the sailing crowd, or those simply looking to relax and unwind and soak up the views. We are also located on the famous Coast to Coast walking route, and indeed Old Water View was a favourite both with Alfred Wainwright, and with Julia Bradbury, who visited whilst filming her recent Coast 2 Coast series... First opened as "Ullswater View Boarding House" in 1904, The Old Water View Hotel has been welcoming walkers, travellers and holiday makers for over one hundred years. Alfred Wainwright stayed here on a number of occasions whilst he was creating the world famous "Coast to Coast" walk, the route of which passes within 100 metres of our door...
