This historic hunting lodge has featured in John Buchan's The 39 Steps, was the boyhood home of Royal Navy submarine ace Lieutenant Commander Malcolm David Wanklyn VC, and played a pivotal role as the secret meeting place for Churchill and Eisenhower as they planned the D-Day landings... Our 19th century country house hotel is fully restored to create a stylish and relaxed ambience for our guests to enjoy stunning scenery.
