Most wireless networks today operate in the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands. 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g transceivers all use these bands. These bands are able to provide high speed, local area networking. Some have even used these technologies to establish lon range wireless links spanning many miles. The problem is, networks operating in these bands are generally limited to line-of-sight (LOS) only connections.
