With the release of Dark Souls III, the Souls series, FROM Software's most successful franchise to date, has seemingly come to a close. President of FROM Hidetaka Miyazaki has stated that after so many games he wants to move on to something new and already has a new IP in development. However, this unnamed new IP isn't the only thing on Miyazaki's mind, and has humored the idea of a new game in the Armored Core series... "Personally I want to do it," Miyazaki replied to a question about the mech action series. "After all I was involved in three games in the series. Armored Core is one of the pillars of From Software's lineup, but I can't reveal anything at the moment."... This won't be the first time Miyazaki will have tackled the series. He started his career at FROM as a planner for Armored Core: Last Raven; humorously, this may explain the high difficulty of the game.
