Amy W. Spain

Amy Spain is a dedicated advocate who focuses her practice on all aspects of family law litigation to include divorce, equitable distribution of assets, spousal and child support determinations and modifications, child custody and visitation matters, and negotiating and drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Her practice also includes appellate advocacy. Amy's practice is devoted to helping her clients navigate through family law matters, and she works closely with clients to understand the client's goals and to ensure that the client is well informed and engaged in every phase of their case. Amy is known for her thorough preparation, tenacity, and unwavering dedication to her clients. While she litigates regularly, she works to discretely and efficiently resolve cases outside of court using creative and effective settlement strategies that maximize her client's results. If a private settlement is not possible, she represents clients at all stages of litigation from trial through the appellate process. She regularly works alongside wealth managers, accountants, business valuators, and trusts and estates attorneys to ensure that her client's assets are protected and that all strategies are designed to maximize her client's future financial circumstances. Annah M. Gould

Annah Gould joined the firm in 2021. Annah is an English Solicitor and member of the Bar of England and Wales. Prior to joining Ain & Bank, Annah worked in family law in London before continuing her practice in the North African and European Offices of Giambrone & Partners LLP giving her a unique insight into international mixed asset holdings and cross border family disputes. Annah has a client centered approach to her work and focuses her practice on multi-jurisdictional family law matters including a particular affinity for cases involving issues of child custody, support and the relocation of children. Annah Graduated from Durham University in the north of England in 2007 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2014 before being admitted to the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2018. She grew up in London and Tokyo.

Cameron R. Hunnicutt

Cameron R. Hunnicutt joined the firm in 2023. Cameron graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in business administration. In May 2021, Cameron received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. While in law school, Cameron represented clients at D.C. Superior Court as a Student Attorney in the Family Justice Litigation Clinic and served as the Senior Notes Editor on the Intellectual Property Law Journal. Previously, Cameron worked as an associate attorney at an antitrust and criminal defense firm in Washington, D.C. He also clerked for Judge Andrew M. Edison at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He grew up in Houston, Texas.

Catherine A. Thompson

Catherine A. Thompson joined the firm in 2020. Previously, Catherine worked in an international financial regulatory and transactional practice at Allen & Overy, LLP in Washington D.C., where she advised banks, fund managers, and investors on complex issues of U.S. federal regulation and negotiated terms for private equity and hedge fund formation projects. Particular areas of interest included impact investments and building multi-jurisdictional structured approaches. As an associate with Ain & Bank, Catherine now focuses her practice on a range of complex and multi-jurisdictional family law matters including divorce, child custody and support, relocation, and wealth management. Catherine graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2018 and magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2014. She grew up in Columbia, MD.

Lauren E. Shea - Founder

Lauren E. Shea is a principal and co-founder of Ain & Bank, P.C. The focus of her practice for more than twenty-eight years has been family law. Lauren is experienced in litigating and settling all types of domestic relations cases. She helps clients identify reasonable goals and accomplish them effectively and efficiently. She often explains that if "both parties are a little unhappy, they have probably settled upon the right result." Lauren is trained in collaborative law and has been peer rated in Washingtonian magazineas one of the top 50 divorce lawyers in the Washington D.C. area since 2000; she has a Martindale Hubbell "AV" rating; and is consistently listed in Washington, D.C. Mallory P. Broberg

Mallory P. Broberg joined the firm in 2022. Mallory graduated magna cum laude from The George Washington University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a minor in law and society. In May 2022, Mallory received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, with a concentration in family law and estate planning. While in law school, Mallory volunteered with the family law pro bono project and the domestic violence clinic. She grew up in San Diego, California. Previously, Mallory worked as a paralegal at a criminal defense firm in Washington, D.C. where most of her work centered on sexual assault victim advocacy. This passion for achieving justice for victims of crime led her to working at an international human trafficking law firm in Uppsala, Sweden. This experience has given Mallory the skills to effectively advocate for her clients with an impassioned and empathetic heart.

Matthew W. Edwards

Matthew W. Edwards focuses on high-stakes matrimonial cases involving complex financial arrangements, family-owned or closely held businesses, and complex custody matters. Matt also helps clients negotiate and enforce prenuptial agreements. In addition to legal analysis, Matt routinely works with forensic accountants, valuation experts, certified financial planners, and professional therapists to provide a clear path to a quick and favorable resolution of his clients' divorce and custody matters. Matt also advises as general and civil litigation counsel to high-net-worth clients and their businesses. When necessary, Matt is a tenacious courtroom advocate at the trial court and appellate levels. Matt volunteers as a family law mentor for the D.C. Bar Advice & Referral Clinic, where he advises pro se litigants on family law and domestic violence matters. Over the course of his career, Matt has devoted thousands of hours to pro bono work. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Greater Washington Community Foundation. Matt was recognized by Best Lawyers in 2020. He currently serves as a member of the D.C. Bar Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee and formerly served as Chair of the Litigation Community of the D.C. Bar. He is also a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. Natalia Wilson is a Principal of Ain & Bank, P.C. She represents a range of individuals, including clients in high net worth cases involving business valuations, businesses held in trusts and other estate planning vehicles, wealth management and preservation, and interstate child custody and support matters. Prior to entering private practice, Natalia served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable John Ramsey Johnson of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Natalia Wilson provides insight into lifelong wedded bliss. Ain & Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Natalia C. Wilson to equity partner. Wilson also serves as managing partner.

Remi M. Forster

Remi joined the firm in 2022. Previously, Remi worked as a commercial litigator at a Washington D.C. based law firm where she engaged in complex litigation defending financial institutions at a state and federal level. Prior to her work at the law firm, Remi served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City, where she prosecuted violent and non-violent criminal cases. Remi graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2017 and University of Michigan in 2014. She is a native Washingtonian.

Sarah Mancinelli is a Principal at Ain & Bank. Sarah focuses her practice on all aspects of family law including divorce, equitable distribution of assets, spousal and child support determinations and modifications, and child custody and visitation matters. Sarah also helps clients negotiate, draft, and enforce prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. In addition to legal analysis, Sarah routinely works with financial and valuation experts and mental health professionals to assist her in obtaining favorable resolution of clients' divorce and custody matters. Sarah is a skilled and effective litigator and advocate for her clients in the courtroom. Additionally, she is uniquely talented in understanding what matters require litigation and what matters are best suited for a negotiated settlement. Sarah prides herself in the candid and realistic advice she offers her clients and believes that is the foundation of the trust her clients have in her counsel. Sarah practices in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a nationwide group of family law practitioners who have demonstrated the highest standards of matrimonial practice. Sarah received her BA in Political Science from Indiana University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Sarah is also the recipient of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship.
