Bruce Bristow - CEO, CFO

Bruce has gained extensive experience in financial management, taxation, regulation and general management in four jurisdictions (South Africa, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Mauritius). He has had exposure to both large and small businesses, including the highly regulated financial services industry in the UK, where he held key regulatory / controlled functions. Bruce's career began in 1990 with KPMG South Africa, where over a 10 year period he gained significant business exposure through audit, tax and consulting assignments. The last two years of this was spent in the London office, where he worked specifically in the banking and financial services sector. He then joined a financial services group based in Switzerland in 1999 as Group Financial Controller. Regarded as a leading niche brokerage business, Decillion/Cedef engaged in bond trading, and the broking of, assets swaps, emerging market derivatives (mainly interest rate swaps) and equity derivatives. He was promoted to Finance Director of Decillion/Cedef in Switzerland, and then Managing Director of the London branch in 2005. In 2006 Bruce joined AHV Associates LLP a Corporate Finance boutique as an Associate and Business consultant, advising on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures and disposals. Bruce has found a niche for advising on property development and investment including structural, tax, accounting and business issues and joined AIP in 2011.

Dr Mark Bristow - Chairman

Mark is a geologist with more than 29 years' experience in exploration, development, project and corporate finance and management in the mining sector in Africa. Mark's career started when he joined Rand Mines Limited in 1984 and in 1992 the company unbundled and Mark continued with Randgold and Exploration Limited, in 1994 Mark joined the Board of Directors of the new Company and was responsible for significantly influencing that company's strategy. In 1995 Mark lead the formation and spin-off of Randgold Resources Ltd becoming the Chief Executive Officer, a company with a start-up capital of only US$ 10 million, but founded off the back of Mark's vision of an African based Gold Mining Company and his pioneering work in Africa, north of the Limpopo. He has since led the growth of Randgold Resources Limited listing the Company in London in 1996, with a subsequent secondary listing on Nasdaq, and steered it through the tough period of the late 1990s when gold prices of levels around US$ 265 per ounce were experienced. Today Randgold Resources Limited is a major Gold Mining business with a market capitalisation of more than $6 billion and with Mark still leading from the helm. AIP was founded on his understanding of the broader investment opportunity in Africa, combined with his successful experience in Africa and global capital markets.

Dr Willem Jacobs

Willem has over 30 years' experience in the engineering, mining and investment sectors, including 25 years in executive management and board level positions of private and public companies. He has worked extensively specifically in Africa, and globally in complex multi-cultural environments and has good working knowledge of people, systems, and legal frameworks. His experience includes a proven track record in corporate turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions, and post-acquisition alignment and optimizations of combined business entities. Willem is seen as a mergers and acquisition specialist, experienced in investor relations. He has started and managed operations in very difficult operating conditions such as Brazil, China, India, the DRC, and Russia, and has proven turn around capabilities as CEO and COO. Willem started his career in 1984 as Principal Consultant with Price Waterhouse, managing the Strategy Consulting practice. He has served on the Boards and Executive Committees of major companies such as Price Waterhouse, Cullinan Holdings Ltd, ABB, IMERYS, TEAL Mining and Exploration and Randgold. Willem is currently a Director of Rockwell Diamonds (a TSX listed Diamond Company) and in 2010 he joined Randgold Resources Limited as Chief Operating Officer, after assisting them to acquire one of the biggest gold resources in the world and construct arguably the biggest gold mine in Africa, at Kibali in the DRC.
