Daniel E. Buffington - CEO, President

Daniel Buffington is the President and CEO of American Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AIPS). Under his vision and leadership, the Institute has become recognized as a leader in the advancement of clinical pharmacology services and programs that improve medication access and healthcare outcomes. Prior to founding the Institute in 2007, Dr. Buffington served in a variety of roles including Practice Manager at Clinical Pharmacology Services, a specialty patient care and clinical research practice located in Tampa, Florida and faculty at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Buffington routinely serves as a consultant on clinical pharmacology, healthcare practice, and forensic pharmacology matters. In addition to numerous presentations and publications, he continues to serve as faculty for several colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine providing specialty lectures and clinical precepting experiences for students. Dr. Buffington is an active member of numerous medical and pharmacy professional associations and has served in many leadership positions as well as board of directors, committees, and specialty task forces. He currently represents pharmacists on the American Medical Association's Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Panel. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for both academic and professional activities and continues to strive to enhance the level of multidisciplinary medical services to improve the healthcare delivery system. A Tampa Bay area native, Dr. Buffington attended the University of South Florida (Biochemistry) and graduated from Mercer University with both a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration degrees. He also completed a clinical residency and clinical pharmacology fellowship at Emory University.

Marcus W. Campbell

Marcus W. Campbell is a post-doctoral Clinical Pharmacology Fellow at the American Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AIPS). Dr. Campbell has a strong clinical background in chronic disease management, with a particular focus in management of diabetes and its co-morbid conditions. He has clinical research experience in multiple areas of ambulatory care pharmacy practice and pharmacogenetics. After earning a PharmD with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Florida, Dr. Campbell went on to complete an ambulatory care specialty residency training program with an academic emphasis at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Additionally he completed a post-doctoral teaching certification program, and he currently holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. Dr. Campbell served as a member in the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists House of Delegates, and is currently participating in exam question preparation for the BPS Ambulatory Care Specialty Certification program. Additionally, he holds memberships in American College of Clinical Pharmacists and The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Prior to pursuing a career in the Pharmacy Profession, Dr. Campbell had 10 years experience in the retail grocery business, where he held a regional management position for an independent retail grocery chain.
