Alda Andoni

Dr. Alda Andoni, board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, joined Women's Health Care and Anna Jaques Hospital in July 2019. Born and raised in Albania, Dr. Andoni brings a multi-cultural understanding to Women's Health Care. She graduated from University of Tirana Faculty of Medicine, Albania in 2004, and completed her internship and residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Flushing, NY. She has worked at Flushing Hospital for the last three years before joining AJH. Dr. Andoni is now accepting new patients at both the Newburyport and Haverhill office locations.

Alexander Lipin

Dr. Lipin is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from Riga Medical School in Riga, Latvia, and continued his post-graduate training in Boston and Brookline. With more than 30 years in practice, he has extensive experience treating pediatric and adolescent psychiatric issues of all kinds, from autism to addiction. Dr. Tibbetts holds a dual medical degree from the Moscow Medical Academy and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training at Moscow Medical Academy, Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, and Tufts University School of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Tibbetts completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include Critical Care Obstetrics, ICU Septic Shock Survival, Clinical Toxicology, Wound Care, and Wound Prevention in Critical Care medicine. She is one of the pioneers in the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) collaborative initiative endorsed by the COPD Foundation. Dr. Tibbetts is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and in Critical Care Medicine.

Anthony Hayden

He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and performed his post-graduate training at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in California, which is part of the University of California-Davis residency program.

Anthony Wilson

Anthony Wilson, MD, is board-certified in plastic surgery. He is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania Medical School and completed his undergraduate education at Harvard. Dr. Wilson's lifelong interest in science prompted a career in medicine, but it was his interest in understanding the aging process and how it affects someone's life that fascinated him. Choosing a career in aesthetics has allowed him to offer compassionate and understanding care while helping his patients emphasize their natural beauty. Whether he's helping a reconstructive patient overcome physical trauma, correcting the visible signs of aging, or helping a transgender patient feel more at home in his or her body, Dr. Wilson takes deep personal satisfaction in giving his patients the tools they need to feel confident, whole, and beautiful. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Wilson is a devoted father to his three young children. He's also translated his scientific aptitude into a love for horticulture: During the warmer months, he spends many happy hours gardening around his New England property.

Benjamin J. Schwartz

Benjamin J. Schwartz, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of arthritis of the hip and knee including total joint replacement and revision. Dr. Schwartz attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA where he was one of a select group of incoming freshman designated as a James Monroe Scholar. While in college, Dr. Schwartz participated in scientific research investigating the effect of retinoic acid on the development of the vascular system in frog embryos. After graduating with high honors from William and Mary, Dr. Schwartz attended the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Following his medical school training, Dr. Schwartz performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Boston Medical Center where he participated in research involving the treatment of hip fractures in the elderly as well as athletic activity after total joint replacement. For his work, Dr. Schwartz was awarded the Lahey Clinic Resident Research Award during his Chief Resident year. After completing residency, Dr. Schwartz performed a fellowship at the prestigious Anderson Orthopedic Institute during which he spent a year focusing solely on the treatment of hip and knee arthritis. During his fellowship, Dr. Schwartz worked with some of the pioneers of modern hip and knee replacement including Dr. Charles Engh, MD, a world renowned surgeon who pioneered the use of cementless implants in total hip arthroplasty and Gerard Engh, MD, one of the world's foremost experts in partial knee replacement. While Dr. Schwartz is specially trained to treat complex surgical problems of the hip and knee, the main goal of his practice is to develop a close relationship with his patients and provide clear and concise understanding of the patient's problem and spectrum of treatment options both surgical and non-surgical. His practice philosophy leans heavily on the idea that successful treatment is dependent on a strong doctor-patient relationship and the ability of the patient to be an active participant in their care.

Bojan B. Zoric

Dr. Zoric is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the hip, shoulder, elbow and knee. He earned his medical degree at the UCLA School of Medicine and completed a residency through Harvard University. He completed a sports medicine fellowship with Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, CO. Dr. Zoric currently serves as one of the official team physicians for the U.S. Women's Soccer Team and traveled to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He is also in the physician pool for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams.

Brett Joseph Matthews

Dr. Matthews is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He began his residency training at Berkshire Medical Center and went on to complete his residency training at the University of Hawaii. Following residency, Dr. Matthews completed a fellowship in Advanced GI/Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. Christine Kipp

Christine Kipp, RN, BSN, MBA, CENP, has more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles, including as a chief nursing officer, nursing director, critical care nurse and leadership roles in patient care quality improvements. Most recently, she was the interim senior director for emergency services at WellSpan Health System in York, PA, where she had administrative oversight of a Level-1 Trauma Center with nearly 90,000 visits annually. Previously, she was the interim chief nursing officer, vice president of patient care at Southeast Georgia Health System, where she led a 300-plus bed facility, a 40-bed remote campus, and two senior care centers, with responsibility for all nursing departments and pharmacy. While at Southeast Georgia Health System, she provided leadership support during the transition of the CEO's retirement to a permanent replacement. Christine also has experience in developing programs designed to promote recruitment, retention, professional development and continuing education of clinical staff in service areas.

Daphna Spiegel

Dr. Spiegel is a radiation oncologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She treats all types of cancer, but her clinical specialties include treatment of breast and gynecologic malignancies. Dr. Spiegel graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed her radiation oncology residency training at Duke University, where she served as Chief Resident. She appreciates engaging in a multi-disciplinary team approach and partnering with patients to achieve high-quality and compassionate care. Dr. Spiegel's research interests include understanding and minimizing toxicities related to cancer treatment. Her research has been published in journals such as Journal of Clinical Oncology and Cancer, and her work has been presented both at the national level and internationally. When not working, Dr. Spiegel enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and her adopted black Labrador retriever.

David E. Sorenson

Dr. Sorenson is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and peformed residencies at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and Boston University Medical Center.

David Fehnel

Dr. Fehnel is Board Certified and fellowship trained with an expertise in sports medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction. He has a special interest in Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff and labral reconstruction as well as total and "reversed" total shoulder replacement. Donielle Sliwa

Dr. Sliwa, MD, MPH is a graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine, where she completed a combined medical degree and master's degree in public health. After attending medical school, Dr. Sliwa completed her internal medicine residency training at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine and her hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Baystate Medical Center/The University of Massachusetts Medical School. Prior to attending medical school, she worked as a research study assistant on national and international clinical trials at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Andrew J. Banos

Dr. Andrew J. Banos is a board certified, Harvard fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He believes in comprehensive care of the whole patient and prefers to begin with non-operative treatment whenever possible. Dr. Banos has an interest in sports injuries and the care of athletes of all ages and types - from the "weekend warrior" to the professional athlete. He has worked with a number of area colleges and high schools as well as with the New England Revolution MLS soccer team. He is also an expert in the management of work-related injuries and navigating through the workers' compensation process. Dr. Banos has expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques such as shoulder and knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, joint preservation, and ACL reconstruction. He also specializes in performing shoulder, hip, and knee replacements. Dr. Banos utilizes the latest technology for total and partial joint replacements including advanced computer navigation, patient specific instrumentation, custom implants, and robotic assisted surgery. He performs both MAKO robotic hip and knee replacements, as well as custom knee replacements. He uses 3D planning software and patient specific instruments for shoulder replacements. Imaging obtained prior to surgery is used to create a computerized 3D model of the joint, which is then used for patient-specific implant placement during surgery. Dr. Banos trained at Loyola University Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, and has extensive experience in the management of extremity fractures. He is skilled in both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of upper and lower extremity fractures (broken bones). Dr. Banos received a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University before obtaining his doctorate from the New York University School of Medicine. He trained in Orthopedic Surgery at Loyola University in Chicago and went on to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Harvard Medical School / Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Massachusetts Orthopedic Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. A native of the north Boston area, Dr. Banos enjoys outdoor activities and is an avid skier, hiker and boater. He lives in Newburyport with his wife Emily and his daughter Lydia.

Dr. Emily Kinn

Dr. Emily Kinn grew up in Needham, Massachusetts. She attended College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, where she studied Biology. After college, she worked as a research assistant at McLean Hospital and then at the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Pilgrim Research Institute. She received her medical degree at the University of Vermont and completed her pediatric residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital. She enjoys hiking, skiing, reading and spending time with her family. Dr. Kinn also loves to teach yoga and meditation. She joined Children's Health Care in August 2022.

Dr. Peter Hartmann

Dr. Peter Hartmann is a board-certified general surgeon who brings nearly 25 years of private surgical practice to the role of Medical Director. Since arriving in Newburyport, Dr. Hartmann has been involved with the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer since 1989. He has had a special interest in breast surgery for decades, and was among the first to use the sentinel node biopsy in New England in the 1990s. Over the years, he has performed approximately 1,000 breast procedures. As a dedicated breast surgeon he focuses exclusively on a variety of breast procedures related to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Dr. Focht joined the team in 2021 as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Anna Jaques Hospital and Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Seacoast Affiliated Group Practice (SAGP). He was named president of Anna Jaques Hospital in August, 2023. Dr. Focht is an accomplished, thoughtful, and mission-driven physician leader with more than 25 years of experience leading high-performance teams. He has provided administrative oversight of the medical staff at multiple hospitals throughout his career, as well as the operations and leadership of large physician organizations. Prior to joining Anna Jaques Hospital, Dr. Focht had served as President of Connecticut Children's Specialty Group at Connecticut Children's Hospital since 2017. This multi-specialty group includes 200 physicians and more than 100 advanced practice clinicians. Prior to that, he was with Boston Children's Hospital as the Chief Medical Officer for the Pediatric Physician Organization at Children's (PPOC) for five years. He also held the CMO and Vice President of Medical Affairs roles at Milford Regional Hospital and Cooley Dickenson for many years. Dr. Focht is board certified in internal medicine. He has a proven record of accomplishment as a chief executive officer, chief medical officer, vice president medical affairs (VPMA), and medical director who has led hospitals, health systems and medical groups during times of transformation and strategic growth. He also remains clinically active. Most recently, he was the medical director of utilization management and referral relationships for Maui Health System, where he oversaw the development of physician relationships across the Hawaiian Islands. Previously, he served as the interim chief medical officer and chief quality officer at Mee Memorial Hospital in King City, CA, where he implemented a new recruiting process and staff reorganization. From 2017 to 2019 he was the chief medical officer at Avanti Hospitals in Los Angeles, CA, overseeing quality, utilization, and medical staff affairs at four acute care general hospitals with more than 400 beds. Dr. Patmas earned a bachelor of sciences and master's degree from the University of Nevada, and his medical doctorate from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, as well as a master's in medical management from USC Marshall School of Business.

Nadine Tung, MD is the director of the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program at the Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. In addition to her clinical work in cancer genetics, Dr. Tung is a breast cancer medical oncologist with expertise in caring for women with breast cancer. She is also active in research in the areas of breast cancer and hereditary susceptibility genes which cause breast and ovarian cancer. Dr. Tung attended Harvard Medical School and completed her internship, residence and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
