Brent graduated Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky School of Architecture and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Before taking the reins at AKB, Brent was a Principal and Board Member of Ross Tarrant Architects which specializes in award-winning, large-scale educational facilities. Brent is an active member of the Remodeler's Council, the NKBA, and the AIA East KY Chapter. He and his wife Suzie reside in Lexington and enjoy playing a nice round of golf when the weather is nice. They are also the proud parents of three adult children.

Dawn Banning

Gwen Fowler

Gwen spent ten years in contemporary art and art-based museums on the West Coast before furthering her design education at the University of California, San Diego, and the Design Institute of San Diego. She has been successfully designing kitchens and baths for over twenty-five years in San Diego, Cincinnati, and Lexington. Gwen's ability to ascertain what is important to her clients is critical before she puts pen to paper. A published author and Emmy award-winning writer and researcher, Gwen and her husband Dave enjoy tasting the local cuisine and listening to good, live music.

Linda Bratton

Linda has been an interior designer for over 30 years. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design, she has enjoyed a very successful design career in Kentucky, Florida, and Arizona. Joining AKB gave her the opportunity to narrow her focus on kitchen and bath designs and put her immense talent to new use. Having owned her own design company, clients are impressed by Linda's professionalism and ability to meet expectations. Linda and her husband Robert love life in the country and spending time with their two adult children.

Melanie Flynn

Melanie's portfolio of projects illustrates a full range of client goals: aging in place, young families, couples who entertain, wine aficionados, and coffee connoisseurs. She creates custom designs for each client. Melanie was born and raised in Lexington and educated at the University of Kentucky. She and her husband Mike have adult twins and are now grandparents! If you enjoy a good home renovation show, the Flynn's could star in their own version. They have successfully remodeled many local properties together.
