Karen Fredenhagen has been a Veterinary Technician for more than 25 years. Her areas of extensive experience include surgery, special needs, nutrition, acupuncture / homeopathy (studied under Dr. Peggy Flemming for four years), behavioral counseling and laser therapy.
She also manages the staff and hospital business operations. She rescues owls, hawks and horses to name a few. Karen shows horses and has shown dogs. Karen has assisted at Safe Animal Shelter and served on the Board of Directors.
Thomas A. Fredenhagen, DVM (aka "Dr. Fred") was born in St. Augustine, FL and raised in Palatka, FL. He attended St. Johns River Junior College and the University of Florida, before receiving his DVM degree from Auburn University in 1976.
After an internship in Tallahassee, FL he moved to the Jacksonville/Orange Park area to continue companion animal practice. He established and ran the Argyle Animal Clinic for 10 years. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than 40 years. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association. He has worked with and been a board member of Safe Animal Shelter.
