LOUISIANA EMERGENCY MEDICAL UNIT

The complete complement of the LEMU system will consist of twelve modular mobile units. The units currently in production will provide the critical medical functions of patient assessment and treatment, pharmacy, and command and communication center services. The LEMU is currently developing plans to incorporate units to provide additional services including, but not limited to, mental health services, water purification, food services, staff quarters for sustained deployments, personal hygiene facilities including shower trailers, and wet and dry decontamination of personnel and equipment.
