Amy is a member of our IT Compliance and Advisory Services Team, specializing in IT general control and application control audits. She manages team members within the group on internal controls over information systems for SOC 1 Type I and II, SOC 2 Type I and II, SOC 3, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, J-SOX compliance, and IT general control environment evaluation for support of financial statement audits. Prior to joining the IT Compliance and Advisory Services Team, Amy was a member of our firm's assurance practice, specializing in financial statement audits and internal control over financial reporting. Amy has spent her career with MCM and has over 18 years of experience.​

Andy Ackermann

Andy also has significant experience on entrepreneurial and start-up businesses.

Angela Marshall

Angela focuses her practice in mergers and acquisitions within the firm's consulting group. She provides full-service investment banking services to middle-market clients in the Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio regions. Angela has more than 25 years of experience in assisting owners in transitioning their businesses, including buying and selling businesses, turnaround, and financial management. Prior to joining MCM, Angela worked as a director for Corporate Finance Associates, a worldwide middle-market investment banking firm. Angela has owned her own commercial construction and real estate company. Throughout her career, she's worked on M&A transactions in broadcasting, healthcare, banking, manufacturing, distribution, technology, business services, and construction.

Ashley Barke

Her focus and expertise is within restaurant and hotel operations and management, independent and franchise restaurants, and real estate. She has experience working with a wide range of clients, including those with like-kind exchange transactions under IRC 1031.

Barbie Thomas

With her clinical and business background, Barbie has the unique ability to help healthcare providers improve their compliance, clinical process, and financial results. Barbie was the Ancillary Services Director at a large health system and has worked in hospital management and operations in multiple ancillary departments in both for-profit and not-for-profit environments for more than 20 years. She has provided consulting services for hospitals and other industries in areas of strategic planning, revenue cycle, operational improvements, compliance and HIPAA security, change management, charge capture, quality outcomes, and expense reduction. Barbie has also administered clinical effectiveness programs for healthcare entities that identified and implemented improvement opportunities for clinical, cost, and service outcomes. She has more than 10 years of experience with MCM and with an international accounting and consulting firm in assisting entities with evaluation of processes and related changes to increase profitability.

Becky Barnett

Ben Dennison

Brad Smith - CEO

Brad serves as the Managing Partner of MCM, working with the Leadership Team to further develop and grow the firm across its regional footprint. Prior to this role, Brad led both the MCM Assurance Services Team as well as the Public Company Services Team. Brad focuses on middle market growth-oriented companies focused in a wide range of commercial-related entities and industries, including manufacturing, distribution, services, construction, and retail. Prior to joining the firm, Brad was a partner with Ernst & Young, where he led the Entrepreneurial Services Group in Kentucky, working with a variety of publicly traded and privately-held entities principally focused in the areas of accounting and auditing.

Byron Largen

Byron's client focus has been in planning and managing tax consulting engagements for businesses and their owners. He has helped to deliver client-specialized tax services, including compliance and both federal and state tax planning at both the entity and individual level. Chris Dittz

Chris Dittz is a Senior Manager at MCM with more than 15 years of financial institutions experience and joined MCM in 2012. He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM). Chris has worked with financial institutions of various complexities and size including private and public financial institutions. He assists clients with a number of areas including Regulatory Compliance Audits and Monitoring, BSA/AML, Loan Review, Credit Administration, Trust Administration, FDICIA requirements, Deposit and Loan Operations, and Quality Assurance Reviews. Additionally, Chris' advisory experience includes developing audit programs by evaluating the effectiveness of a financial institution's control mechanisms and identifying any weaknesses or gaps that may put an institution at risk.

Christopher Flaig

Chris is a Partner on MCM's Assurance Services Team with more than 30 years of accounting and business advisory experience. His focus and expertise are within the manufacturing, governmental and not-for-profit industries. Chris is a leader in the firm's manufacturing and distribution group in the Cincinnati office. He and the team work together to provide practical solutions that meet the needs of manufacturers. In addition to performing traditional auditing and accounting services, he has been a key leader in various projection and forecast engagements as well as performance audits. Chris has considerable expertise in operational analysis, including the development of efficiency studies for companies with revenues in excess of $100 million. Chris is also a frequent guest lecturer at industry forums, including the Cincinnati Business Courier's Manufacturing Forum, and accounting conferences held by the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Ohio Association of College and Business Officers (OACUBO) among many others.

Diane Medley - Chairman

Active in public accounting since 1981, Diane Medley co-founded Chilton & Medley in 1988 and Mountjoy Chilton Medley LLP in 2010. She has led the firm through several mergers and acquisitions, making MCM the largest CPA firm in the region with approximately 350 employees across five locations, including offices in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky; Indianapolis and Jeffersonville, Ind., and Cincinnati, Ohio. Today the firm is the 76th largest professional and financial services firm in the United States. Doug consults with businesses to help them improve their current banking relationships, make loan requests look more attractive, obtain additional financing, or find the right fit with a new bank.

Drew Chambers

Drew has over 20 years of experience in various assurance and consulting capacities while working with numerous businesses in industries including manufacturing, retail, construction, professional services, and publicly-traded companies. His previous experience as a member of the Audit and Assurance Services Group includes oversight of audit, attestation, and consulting engagements for a range of clients in a variety of industries. Drew now focuses his expertise within the firm's consulting group. His current practice is devoted primarily to business valuation for purposes of gift and estate tax areas, mergers and acquisitions, marital dissolutions, and succession planning. Drew also works closely with the legal profession and has served as an expert witness on litigation support projects involving business disputes, lost profits, and economic damages. He also assists businesses in the areas of fraud risk assessments, fraud and forensic examinations, and due diligence analysis for mergers and acquisitions.

She uses her skills and knowledge to teach internal and external courses in estate, gift, and trust taxation, as well as serving on boards for local organizations. Greg Wilson

His client base consists primarily of general and subcontractor companies within the construction industry. He has performed specific services within the industry including cost certifications, audits of construction estimates, assisted construction companies with process and controls implementation and other contract focused services for the past 30 years. Greg has extensive experience with overhead allocation methodologies, reviewing and testing AIA billings for compliance with contract provisions as well as working with various accounting and cost systems for construction contractors. Greg is a Past President of the Associated General Contractors of Kentucky.

Jennifer Thomas

He serves many different industries, including professional service organizations, not-for-profits, manufacturing, and automotive services. With a background in electrical engineering, Jim brings a structured approach to systems review and automation by first listening to the needs of the customer and then applying a custom solution to provide our clients with a strategic advantage.

John Hill

Kathleen Hoye

Kathleen is a Principal in the Consulting Services Team at MCM. She has had extensive experience helping and advising firms with their growth, development, and passing enterprises to the next generation. Her areas of focus include business strategy, family and business governance, family and business policy development, succession planning, leadership development, next generation career coaching, family education and communication, and exit planning that allows owners to exit their businesses on their terms and conditions. Before working at MCM, she was the Director of the Family Business Center at the University of Louisville and Director of the Small Business Development Center for North Central Kentucky. She also created the Vogt Invention and Innovation Fund for the Vogt family in Louisville, which provides seed-stage support and capital for inventors and product developers as well as co-launching the award-winning radio series "This I Believe" on NPR. Kathleen is a frequent presenter at family business and trade conferences, educational programs and meetings covering topics such as family governance, change management, succession planning, exit planning, leadership development and family communication.

Kelley Miller

Kelley leads our IT Audit Team in providing services from IT general controls to security and risk assessments and is a member of both the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the Information Systems Security Association. She has earned the professional designations of Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Information Security Manager. While at MCM, Kelley has provided our clients with a wide variety of Information System services, including reviews, system selection assistance and guidance, system implementations, training and support, as well as providing process re-engineering assistance to aid the client in gaining advantage in more complete usage of both new and existing systems. Prior to joining MCM, she served as an MIS Manager for a manufacturing firm. She has over 20 years of experience in information system services on a wide variety of platforms including Microsoft and UNIX network systems. She has also gained experience in information systems through the performance of the duties related to system analysis, system design, and implementation of manufacturing, distribution, financial, and medical management software.

Kim Friend

With more than 28 years of professional accounting experience, Kim Friend is the leader of MCM's Professional Services Team. She works exclusively in the tax department overseeing the preparation of all types of income tax returns, tax research, and planning. Her practice emphasis is on flow-through entities and high net worth individuals, and she has significant experience with law firms, physician groups, investment companies, and other service-related businesses.

Lee Ann Watters

She has worked with the affordable housing market for six years providing services to public housing agencies, multi-family housing projects and community action agencies.
