My name is Alex Veld, I've been in the insurance business for 4 years, and I've been with McMillan Insurance for nearly 2 years. I was born and raised in Crete IL, and I currently live in Cedar Lake IN with my wife Bekah. I have my Property, Casualty, Life and Health insurance licenses in both Illinois and Indiana. In 2015 I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in Economics and Finance. Outside of work I enjoy playing golf and following Chicago Blackhawks hockey.
Amy Miller lives in Gilman, IL. She is married to Tony Miller, and together they have 4 children: Ashton, Auston, Aayden, and Autumn. She coaches basketball for IW 8th grade girls and High school JV girls. In her spare time, Amy runs her kids to practices and games!
Angie was born and raised in the Piper City area. She is married to Don and resides in rural Kempton. She and her husband have two adult children, Aaron and Blake. Aaron is currently studying to become an accountant at Governors State and Blake works at Stevenson Auto Repair in Kankakee. Angie works in the Gilman office at the front desk and has been there for 5 years. Her hobbies include dirt track racing, all sports, and reading. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

A lifelong resident of the Piper City area, Cathy has been an Insurance Agent since 1988 and a Real Estate Broker since 1994. She manages the Piper City office of McMillan Insurance Services. Being born and raised on the farm, she finds her insurance specialty is farm property, farm liability, and crop insurance. She is married and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, reading, sewing, crocheting, baking, working in her flower beds, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Jeff graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Ag Economics. He started in the insurance business in 1989 and opened McMillan Insurance in 2001. He was the former president of Independent Farm Agents of Illinois, Gilman Chamber of Commerce, and the Kankakee Valley Association of Life Underwriters. He is also a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and coaching his two boys, Jack and Sam. His hobbies include boating and golfing. Currently, he resides in Gilman with wife Lisa, who is a teacher, their two boys, and their dog, Chief.
Kathy lives in Cabery with her husband Bob. They have 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 2 more grandchildren on the way. She comes from a family of 9 and they are all very close. Her hobbies include baking and painting. She works out of the Gilman office and began her insurance career in 1998 selling and servicing personal lines of auto and home insurance and a bit of commercial lines servicing. Working with people and finding them great coverage at a great price is her favorite part of the job.
Just like her parents, Kathy was born and raised in the Piper City where she later graduated from Piper City High School in 1969. For many years she worked in accounting for a local Truck Stop. Almost 11 years ago she changed careers and came to work at McMillan Insurance Services in Gilman as a CSR. She has varied duties, some of which include helping customers with making changes on their policies, submit payments, process the mail, and help answer the phone. She says that it has been very rewarding to be able to help our customers and this is one of the most enjoyable jobs she has had. Kathy has one daughter, who is the joy of her life. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing by reading, painting, crocheting, and watching "old" movies, and most of all, Texting/Skyping with her daughter.
Laura Barrera is a woman of many talents. She is bilingual, an Insurance Agent, and Real Estate Broker since 2007. Approximately 25 years ago she relocated to Central, IL, with her husband and two children. She is the past Chamber President for "Fairbury Illinois Chamber of Commerce" and has received the Excellence Award while working as a Mortgage Processor for PNC Bank. She served as a volunteer for Hispanic Housing Task Force with PNC Mortgage Co., as a mortgage underwriter for McLean County Habitat for Humanity, and currently volunteers for Red Cross Hispanic Contact for Medical Rideshare. She truly cares about her community.
Renee was born and raised in Gardner, KS. She graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School in 1981 and attended Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS. After continuing her education, she went to work for Gardner Elementary School as a Paraprofessional for 3 years. She then transferred to Spring Hill School district and taught for 3 more years. In the summer of 1988, she was given an opportunity to work for one of the largest photography studios in Kansas and Missouri. They specialized in School Portraits, Sr. Portraits, & Church Directories. She was in charge of five full-time photographers, four private studios, and the mailing facility of John Q. Adams and Associates & Creative Images Photography Studios.
In 1991 she went to work for JRH Biologicals in Lenexa, KS. They produced Biological Serum for Biological testing that shipped serum all over the world. In 1995, her family moved to Illinois. She was able to be a stay at home mom for a while. She started working for Ray Froelich RE and Insurance in September of 2003. When Jeff McMillan combined the offices, she was delighted to stay on and offer support for his insurance team. Renee has 3 grown children and the cutest grandson on the planet. She spends her time off out in her horse barn, giving riding lessons to anyone who loves horses as much as she does and wants to learn to ride.
Vickie is from Clifton and joined McMillan Insurance Services, Inc. in the fall of 2016 as a licensed customer service representative in the Bourbonnais office. She has worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years. Camping, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her 3 grandchildren take up her time when she is not in the office.
