Christopher J. Morey

Christopher J. Morey was a founding partner of Morey & Upton, LLP and has retired from the practice of law. Year after year, Mr. Morey recovered millions of dollars for his clients and their families through verdicts and settlements, establishing himself as one of the state's premier personal injury attorneys. For undergraduate work, Mr. Morey was invited to join the General Honors Program at California State University Long Beach. Thereafter, Mr. Morey received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern California with a major in Finance and Economics. Mr. Morey attended law school at the University of San Diego, graduating with honors (cum laude) in 1990. Mr. Morey also did an externship at the Ninth Federal Circuit Court of Appeals with former Chief Justice J. Clifford Wallace. Jason A. McDaniel - CEO

Jason A. McDaniel is a Managing Partner who has been with Morey & Upton, LLP since 2011. Since he began practicing in 2006, he has advocated on behalf of plaintiffs-never insurance companies. At Morey & Upton, Mr. McDaniel has represented thousands of clients and is responsible for tens of millions in recovery. He brings a unique and compassionate perspective to Morey & Upton, LLP with his Midwest roots and southern California legal experience. Mr. McDaniel graduated from Michigan State University in 2002 with a B.S. in business-prelaw and earned a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law in 2005. Mr. McDaniel began his legal career with the Mallon Law Firm, a premiere Madison County, Illinois personal injury practice that specialized in representing victims in automobile accidents, premises liability actions, intentional torts such as false imprisonment and battery, work injuries, and Social Security disability. Thereafter, Mr. McDaniel joined Smith & Weer, PC in Central Illinois. His practice focused on divorce, family law, bankruptcy, and civil litigation where he helped hundreds of clients who were at their most vulnerable. Whether the case was a strenuous child custody trial, domestic violence, or financial catastrophe, Mr. McDaniel built strong relationships with each client while navigating them through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Mr. McDaniel is a seasoned litigation attorney who has represented clients in myriad areas of the law, including personal injury, divorce, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. He is an active member of the California and Illinois State Bars and certified to practice in California Federal Court.

Jean Harries

Jean Harries is a 2010 graduate of Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California, having attended classes during the evenings while working full-time as a plaintiff personal injury paralegal during the day. Ms. Harries was admitted to the California State Bar in 2012, after a long and successful career of over 19 years as a paralegal. Ms. Harries joined Morey & Upton, LLP as an attorney in June 2014 and enjoys being an essential component of the team, obtaining fair settlements for its clients. Although Ms. Harries has enjoyed a well-rounded career, gaining valuable experience in many areas of law including construction defect, bankruptcy, wills & trusts, probate, conservatorship, family law and landlord - tenant law, she prefers the personal injury forum because it is a means of helping people who have been unjustly injured through no fault of their own. She specializes in the meticulous and empathetic nature of working up a case, assuring our clients get well and are equitably compensated for their injuries. Ms. Harries also has a Master of Arts Degree in music history and literature from California State University-Long Beach. She plays the violin semi-professionally and is currently an officer on the board of directors for the West Coast Pops Orchestra in Orange County.

Over the course of his career, Mr. McDonough has deepened his practical knowledge of the law, tailoring its application to serve his clients' unique needs and achieve optimal results, including numerous multimillion-dollar recoveries. Mr. McDonough graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in history and earned his Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School, where he consistently ranked in the top of his class and graduated cum laude. While attending Whittier Law School, Mr. McDonough was named to the Dean's List and Honor Roll and received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Transactional Writing. Mr. McDonough initially began working in personal injury after earning his bachelor's degree and attended law school while working full-time at Morey & Upton, LLP. Through his tireless work ethic and dedication to his clients as an Associate Attorney at Morey & Upton, LLP, Mr. McDonough was elevated to Senior Associate and ultimately named a Partner as a result of his integral involvement in securing several multimillion-dollar recoveries.
