His prior work experience includes working as a statistical specialist for a market research company and as a political science professor at the University of Memphis. Dr. Wicks holds a PHD in political science from the University of Rochester and continues to teach American politics courses as an adjunct professor at local colleges. His hobbies include volunteer firefighting, managing political campaigns and visiting cemeteries where notable politicians are buried.

Lauren Johnson has a true passion for helping others. She has over 10 years of experience in Social Services between her employment and volunteer involvement. She worked her way up from housekeeping and began her career working with the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) as a Program Specialist for St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners in 2014. In 2016, she was promoted to Human Services Coordinator. Lauren became a Nationally Certified ROMA Implementer (NCRI) in 2020. She recently joined the National Association for State Community Services Programs team as the CSBG Program Manager. Lauren is a South Florida native, born and raised in St. Lucie County. She obtained her masters from Saint Leo University in Human Services Administration and is a member of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society of Social Services. She is the mother of a beautiful, spunky little girl. She is also a dachshund enthusiast and has three short-haired miniature reds.

Shawn Howell is a Nationally Certified Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) Master Trainer, ROMA Implementer, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Data-Driven Decision-Making (DDDM) Specialist with more than 25 years of experience developing, managing, and implementing award-winning programs. During his tenure with the Community Action network in Tennessee and Georgia, Shawn worked in various positions that led to a strong expertise in the areas of program planning and development, data aggregation and analysis, and compliance oversight. In 2017 Shawn began a full-time career as a trainer and consultant. Today, he travels around the country assisting Community Action Agencies, HUD contractors, local governments, and a variety of nonprofit organizations with the development of programs focused on poverty elimination. Shawn is a student of Peter Drucker, Lee Cockerell, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Walt Disney, Sargent Shriver, and Andy Stanley, and often incorporates their business models in his teachings. Terry Bearden is Project Director at the National Community Action Partnership as of March 2023. She was formerly the executive director of the Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association and served as president of the Association of Nationally Certified ROMA Trainers and as vice-president of the Region VI Community Action Association boards of directors. She was a Nationally Certified Master ROMA Trainer and member of the NCAP Equity and Economic Mobility Commission. She currently serves as an At-Large Board Member of the Arkansas Coalition of Housing and Neighborhood Growth for Empowerment (ACHANGE). Terry is a ROMA Advocate, University of Connecticut Family Development Credential Program Instructor and Portfolio Advisor, and graduate of the University of Central Arkansas Community Development Institute-Central. Throughout her 23-year community action career, Terry has been a member of numerous coalitions, task forces, and work groups and has spoken, served on panels, and led workshops at local, state, regional, and national conferences. Terry holds an Associate Degree in Business Management from the University of Arkansas System eVersity and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas - Grantham, fulfilling her long-delayed dream of obtaining a post-secondary education. Terry and her husband, Nathan, are rearing their biological granddaughter, Karmyn, whom they adopted following the death of their daughter, Samantha, in 2014 due to domestic gun violence.

Tim moved to Ojai, California in 2008 where he became the Family and Community Services Manager of Community Action of Ventura County; three years later he was promoted to Director of Operations. In his roles there he led the expansion of the agencies core programming, the development of several new community outreach and education programs, launched new programs to house those without a home, and significantly increased the agency's collaborative partnerships with several nonprofits and local governments. Tim holds his BS degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He was certified in 2015 by the National Community Action Partnership as a Certified Community Action Professional and received his certification as a ROMA Trainer in 2017. Tim became part of the leadership team at the Community Action Agency of Butte County in early 2016.

Tina Zerbian has been the CEO at Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. since September 1984. In 2008, she was named the Leadership Cattaraugus Alumnus of the Year and is a 2019 inductee in the Notable Women Human Services Hall of Fame. She and her husband live in Ellicottville, New York and have two adult sons.
