Adam has been with Scheibel Construction for 18 years. His responsibilities as Vice President, Director of Construction Management includes managing pre-qualifications, pre-construction, and all construction for Scheibel CM. He earned a B.S. in Construction Management from Clemson University, and he is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Augustin J. Muell

Job Titles:

Augustin Muell has ten years in the construction industry and has been with Scheibel Construction for six years. As a Project Manager, Augustin's responsibilities include managing contracts and subcontract agreements, creating CPM schedules, and monitoring job costs. Augustin earned a B.S. in Construction Management and a Minor in Business Administration from East Carolina University. He also studied Sustainability in Construction at the Han University of Applied Science in The Netherlands.

Bill Varnon

Bill Varnon has 38 years of industry experience, and he has been with Scheibel Construction for thirteen years. Bill oversees all preconstruction services. He performs pricing and data formulation to develop project estimates. He is experienced in the use of Sage Estimating for generating project cost breakdowns. Bill monitors and develops quantity surveys, and develops proposals and AIA documents. He interfaces with contractors, owners, developers, and architects, and he coordinates subcontractor requirements. Bill earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Heather S. Mudd - CFO

Heather has over 20 years in the construction and industry. She has been with Scheibel Construction for 17 years. As the CFO, her responsibilities include financial, job cost, and risk analysis, strategic business planning as well as human resource administration. Heather earned a B.S. in Accounting and a Master's in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining Scheibel Construction, she worked at Arthur Anderson and EYA.

Jerrie L. Bailey - VP

Jerrie L. Bailey has helped build Scheibel Construction to what it is today over the last 30 years. She brings over 25 years of experience in Real Estate. Jerrie leads the Marketing Department.

John R. Bailey - President

John R. Bailey is the third-generation President & Owner of Scheibel Construction. He has 39 years of experience with the company. John oversees and manages all corporate operations, while also maintaining open communication with clients and subcontractors. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from Guilford College.

Joseph Schwartz III

Joe Schwartz has nine years in the construction industry and has been with Scheibel Construction for four years. Joe earned a B.S. from James Madison University. He was recently promoted from Assistant Project Manager to Project Manager. As a Project Manager, Joe's responsibilities include managing contracts and subcontract agreements, creating CPM schedules, and monitoring job costs. Prior to joining Scheibel, Joe was an Assistant Project Manager at James G. Davis.

Kristen B. Doty

With over 14 years of experience in the construction industry, Kristen has been with Scheibel Construction for eleven years. Kristen is a fourth-generation member of the family company, where she oversees business development. As a project manager, her responsibilities include managing contracts and subcontract agreements, creating CPM schedules, and monitoring job costs. Kristen earned a B.S. in Community and Economic Development from Clemson University. Kristen is a Developing Leader for the National Association Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP Northern Virginia) as well as a member in the DC Real Estate Group. She is a former member of the CREW DC (Commercial Real Estate Women) Executive Committee and serves on the the Community Action Committee.

Matt Tessier - COO, VP

Matt Tessier has been with Scheibel Construction for 24 years. As Vice President, Director of Operations, his responsibilities include overseeing the management of all project management and field operations. Matt earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, with a specialization in Construction Management. He has earned an EIT (Engineering in Training) Certification and he is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Michael J. Dupuis

Job Titles:
  • Senior Estimator
With 39 years of industry experience, Michael Dupuis has been with Scheibel Construction for over 32 years. He is trained in the use of the best-in-class Sage Estimating software, and he performs pricing and data formulation for estimate submissions. As a prior Superintendent, Mike's experience provides valuable information in reviewing and developing extensive site work proposals. He monitors and develops quantity surveys, and develops written proposals and AIA documents. He interfaces with contractors, consultants, owners, developers, and architects. He also coordinates subcontractor requirements. Michael has received training through the Technical Careers Institute in New Haven, CT, and Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD.

Neil McAnney

Phillip D. Cranford

Job Titles:

Phillip Cranford has 16 years in the construction industry and has been with Scheibel Construction for 13 years. His responsibilities include assisting project managers in preparing and negotiating subcontract agreements and purchase orders; creating and maintaining CPM schedules; managing contracts and job costs; and interfacing with engineers, architects, and subcontractors. Phil utilizes the Sage Estimating software to develop project estimates. He manages site superintendents and addresses field issues. He has earned a US Coast Guard Captain's License (Sea School, St. Petersburg, FL) and a B.A. in Business Management from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL.

Richard L. Mellen III

With 25 years of experience at Scheibel Construction, Rich oversees and project manages corporate operations, including talent management, monitoring job costs on all projects, and assisting with marketing and sales efforts. Richard earned a B.S. in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He earned the license of Third Mate, Unlimited Tonnage, Radar Observer, and the commission of Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve.

Robert M. Bailey

As fourth-generation member of the family company, Robert started working in the field as a laborer during high school and moved up to Assistant Superintendent. Today Robert is in the office, where his responsibilities include managing contracts and subcontract agreements, managing job costs, managing site superintendents, and addressing field issues. Robert earned a B.S. in Building Science from Appalachian State University. He has been with Scheibel Construction full time for more than ten years.
