Antonio's the founder and CEO of the Smartmatic Group. Since the year 2000, he has defined the corporation's vision and its goals.
He believes in a hands-on approach to management, and accordingly he actively participates in the strategic planning of all areas and departments.
Antonio's envisioned many of the technological solutions and breakthroughs Smartmatic has made. As of 2013, he held 11 issued and two pending patents in the United States, with more under way.
He has an electronic engineering degree from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas (Venezuela).
One of Antonio's strengths has been the ability to balance being both a leader and a team player.
When he founded Smartmatic, he wanted to create the kind of technology that could help improve societies around the world.
Charles Lasham serves as a senior consultant in international electoral assistance. He was a founding member and served as chairman of the Association of Electoral Administrators of the UK.
Mr. Lasham has over 25 years of experience in administering elections in the UK, having served as UK and regional returning officer for Liverpool and Northwest England. From 2000 to 2010 he served as country director for the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and oversaw programs that provided technical election assistance to Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Iraq, Moldova, and Nigeria. He has worked in more than 40 countries on pre-election assessments, election studies, election observation missions, and training for election management bodies.
He is the author of numerous election publications and articles and was a founding contributor to the Administration and Cost of Elections (ACE) Knowledge Network. Mr. Lasham studied public administration at the University of Liverpool and holds a diploma in electoral administration from the Association of Electoral Administrators of the UK.

César is responsible for developing opportunities for our Asia and Pacific region business units, in accordance with the exciting expansion plans we have for the continent.
César has been part of Smartmatic since 2005. He started out in our sales department, where he participated in bidding processes in countries such as Belgium, the Philippines, Colombia, among others.
César has led successful sales projects around the world. His international business skills saw him become President of Smartmatic Asia Pacific during the successful Philippines general elections.
He's also been a key spokesperson for Smartmatic and maintains a solid relationship with the media in the Philippines.
He's fluent in four languages and can adapt quickly to different cultures. He has also been a collaborator for newspapers and magazines.
David is the founder and Chief Executive of Pi Capital; a unique investor network that finds growth equity and alternative asset investment opportunities for its members and negotiates participation in select private equity deals and funds. It allows individual investors to participate in transactions on an opt-in basis that are usually the exclusive preserve of institutions. In addition to investment opportunities, Pi Capital offers its members an exclusive and vibrant social and educational programme.
David previously founded, built up and sold several businesses and health club chains in the US and Europe. He has financial interests in several other businesses and industries (both as an angel investor or co-investor) and has been involved as an investor, advisor and board member of some of the largest and most successful health & fitness companies in world including Fitness First, 24 Hour Fitness and Zumba Fitness.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of Zumba Fitness, Smartmatic, and MedicAnimal and is a senior advisor with some of the leading private equity and venture capital funds in the world. David is an active member of YPO and CEO global business organizations and a trustee of Speakers4Schools.org and Pro Bono Economics.
David is responsible for managing Smartmatic's global response and approach to all strategic legal matters, such as intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, competition, and dispute resolution.
He has some 25 plus years experience as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
He's an acknowledged senior technical and strategic advisor, having worked as director and general counsel in a variety of global companies, such as France Telecom (where he was director of regulatory affairs) and Amazon (UK legal director).
David has significant global experience in litigation and dispute resolution, business operations, corporate transactions, legal and regulatory compliance.
He joined Smartmatic in September 2011 after a period working as an independent legal consultant in the Middle East.
David graduated with an Honors' Degree in law from the University of Wales and also studied at the College of Law, Chester. He is an alumnus of the Babson College Retail Management Programme and is a qualified arbitrator.
Dr. Leonardo Valdés Zurita served as President Councillor of the Federal Electoral Institute of Mexico, Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE) from 2008 to 2013. During his term, IFE organized presidential and congressional elections. He was a leader in implementing many notable improvements in the electoral process.
He has provided technical election assistance and training for election management bodies in more than 34 countries. Prior to his work at the Federal Electoral Institute he was Councillor of the Electoral Institute of the Federal District and Executive Director of Electoral Organization at IFE. He has been a university professor for more than 20 years, written more than 50 articles in specialized journals, more than 30 chapters in collective works and has given more than 100 conferences and lectures. His papers have been published in Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Great Britain and Venezuela. He belongs to a number of scientific associations. He was a founding member and served as chairman of the Mexican Society of Electoral Studies for two consecutive terms.
He holds a PhD in Social Sciences with a specialization in Sociology from the Centre for Sociological Studies of El Colegio de México with the thesis "The Political Consequences of Electoral Reforms in México (1977-1991)".
On 2013, Dr. Valdés received the Charles T. Manatt Democracy Award from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) for the implementation of major reforms in Mexico and for fostering international cooperation. He is an honorary member of the Association of European Election Officials a.k.a. (ACEEEO) since 2013 in recognition of his lifetime achievements and for promoting international electoral cooperation. In 2013 he also received an award from the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organs (UNIORE) for contributing to electoral cooperation in the Americas.
Dr. S.Y. Quraishi became the 17th chief election commissioner of India in 2010. From 2006 to 2010, he served as a member of the Electoral Commission of India, administering the largest democratic elections in the world, and overseeing presidential, parliamentary, and state elections.
Prior to joining the Electoral Commission of India, he served for 35 years as a civil servant working in such diverse areas as sports, health, and energy. He held many posts including Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Dr. Quraishi has received several prestigious awards in recognition of his contributions to civil society and human development. He has earned distinction for his study of languages. He has written numerous articles and publications on elections, democracy, and social marketing.
He serves on the board of directors of International IDEA in Stockholm. Dr. Quraishi earned a masters degree from St. Stephen's College in Delhi and received a Ph.D. for his thesis on the "Role of Communication and Social Marketing in the Development of Women and Children".
His most recent book was published in 2014 and is entitled An Undocumented Wonder- the Making of the Great Indian Election.
Mark Malloch-Brown is a former number two in the United Nations as well as having served in the British Cabinet and Foreign Office. He now sits in the House of Lords and is active both in business and in the non-profit world. He also remains deeply involved in international affairs.
Mark served as Deputy Secretary-General and Chief of Staff of the UN under Kofi Annan. For six years before that he was Administrator of the UNDP, leading the UN's development efforts around the world. He was later Minister of State in the Foreign Office, covering Africa and Asia, and was a member of Gordon Brown's cabinet.
He was knighted in 2007 for his contribution to international affairs. Mark is the author of "The Unfinished Global Revolution" and continues to write, broadcast and lecture about international issues.

Marco leads our efforts to develop business opportunities in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He was previously CEO for Cyclomedia and Anteryon. Before that, Marco spent 22 years with Alcatel-Lucent, where he held many roles, including President Northern Europe, President of the Business Division Optical Transmission and CEO of Alcatel Benelux.
Marco has an engineering degree from The Hague University in the Netherlands and a cum laude MBA from Bradford University in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Paul DeGregorio served as commissioner of the United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) from 2003-2007, and during his tenure at the EAC served as chairman. At the EAC, Mr. DeGregorio oversaw federal election reform, such as the implementation of the Help America Vote Act and the establishment of the first federal certification of voting systems.
Prior to the EAC, Mr. DeGregorio was Executive Vice President of the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES). At IFES he also was senior election adviser. He promoted internet voting technologies and automation as Chief of Elections of Everyone Counts, Inc.
He has 30 years of election experience and was Director of Elections for St. Louis County, Missouri, USA. He has provided technical assistance and has observed elections in more than 35 countries.
He has headed several OSCE/ODHIR election missions. Mr. DeGregorio is Senior Advisor to the Association of World Election Bodies, Seoul, Korea. He is frequent lecturer and has authored numerous publications on elections. He received the Freedom Award from the National Association of Secretaries of State, and is a life member of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers and the Association of European Election Officials.
A graduate of the University of Missouri with a B.A. in Political Science, Mr. DeGregorio was honored by his alma mater with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Pedro leads our sales efforts in Latin America, overseeing regional presidents for the region.
Before taking this leadership role in the sales force, Pedro worked as Equity & New Ventures Director, managing the VIP portfolio of partners and investors to open business opportunities around the world.

Richard W. Soudriette is the chairman of the SGO Smartmatic International Elections Advisory Council. He serves as an international advisor to AWEB. He is a founding member and adviser to the Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO).
From 2009 to 2015 he served as president of the Center for Diplomacy and Democracy in Colorado Springs. From 1988 to 2007 he was the founding president of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) in Washington, D.C. Under his leadership, IFES became one of the premier providers of international democracy assistance.
He served as a member of the U.S. Secretary of State's Advisory Committee on Democracy Promotion from 2006 to 2008. He was a founder of the Global Election Organization Conference (GEO) in 1999 and the ACE Knowledge Network in 1998.
Prior to joining IFES, Mr. Soudriette served as chief of staff for a member of the U.S. Congress and director of the U.S. Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic and in Paraguay.
The International Centre for Parliamentary Studies and the University of Paris have honored him for his work in elections. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Soudriette is the author of many articles and publications on elections.

Before joining Smartmatic, Robert was President of the Unisys Corporation's Latin America and Caribbean Division. He was also President of Unisys Brazil, Unisys Mexico and Vice-President of marketing operations for Asia/Pacific and the Americas.

Sir Nigel Knowles is Global Co-Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of DLA Piper. He has been Managing Partner since 1996 and in that time has led DLA Piper's growth from a regional UK law firm to what is now the world's largest global business law firm. Globally, DLA Piper has a turnover in excess of £1bn with over 4,200 lawyers located in more than 30 countries throughout the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.
Sir Nigel joined the Yorkshire firm, Broomheads, as a trainee in 1978 and quickly moved into the management sphere, progressing towards his appointment as Managing Partner in 1996. Since that time, Sir Nigel has led the practice through a host of successful mergers. From a largely UK presence the firm has expanded into Continental Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Sir Nigel's leadership was instrumental in the single largest transatlantic law merger in recent history when DLA integrated with US-based firms Piper Rudnick and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP in 2005. Sir Nigel was appointed Chairman and Non-Executive Director for Blenheim Capital Services Limited in 2010. DLA Piper's reputation in the field of addressing the broader responsible business agenda is increasingly an important part of Sir Nigel Knowles' ambition for the firm. Sir Nigel is a former Chairman of the Managing Partners' Forum; Chairman of the Legal Sector Alliance which emerged from the May Day Business Summit on Climate Change; a member of Business in the Community's Environment Leadership team; and a member of the steering committee of The Prince of Wales Rainforest Project.

Victor is responsible for leading Smartmatic's sales and marketing strategies in Brazil.
Before joining the company, he was president of Unisys Brazil and held key positions in the public sector, in banking and in retail and industry.
Victor's an electronic engineer and graduated from the Mackenzie University of Sao Paulo. He also specialised in industrial security at the University of Sao Paulo.
Victor has attended executive and sales and services courses at Harvard University and the Wharton School.
