Ann Russell

Ann Russell (B.A.) Ann Russell has over 12 years of sleep experience working in both a hospital sleep laboratory and our private clinic. Ann is a member of ASTA (Australian Sleep Technologists Association) and is one of our senior technologists, working with our CPAP Program in setting up our patients with their CPAP equipment and supplies. She also counsels our patients in regards to their CPAP therapy to improve patient compliance and satisfaction with the use of CPAP. Ann also attends to setting up our patients for Home Sleep Studies, both in our clinic or at patients' homes. As a user of CPAP herself, she has a great understanding and empathy for patients commencing and adhering to CPAP therapy.

Dr Ashivini Thanabalasingham

Ashivini completed her medical degree in Lithuania (2012), prior to working in Ireland and Australia. She has worked in hospital rotations across QLD and NSW, including emergency medicine, general surgery and various subspecialties within general medicine. She enjoys general practice and has interests in the field of dermatology, women's health, chronic disease management and aged care.

Dr Ellen Millard

Ellen grew up in Forster and Gloucester and has always loved this area. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends in the Great Lakes Community. Ellen graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra in 2007. During her hospital years at Canberra Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, she worked in areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Mental Health, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Emergency before training in General Practice. Ellen has completed post graduate training in women's health and also counselling for general practice. Both are special interests of hers. However she enjoys all aspects of general medicine.

Dr Emil Malferrari

Emil is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). He obtained his medical degree in 2006 (with honors) and has been working as a full time GP with FTMC since 2014. His areas of practice includes the following: Chronic disease management

Dr George Castillo

After completing his medical degree in the Philippines George was a Neurosurgery trainee for 3 years before migrating to Australia. Since migrating to Australia George has worked at various hospitals including; Westmead Children's, Gosford, Wyong and Hornsby Hospitals. George has a special interest in Neurology, Children's Health, Skin Cancer and Aged care.

Dr Jamie Fernando

Dr Jamie completed his medical degree at the University of NSW in Sydney. He has worked as a GP in the Forster area since 2009. He is originally from Gulargambone, and is now happy to be part of the coastal lifestyle with his family. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, including preventative health, skin cancer medicine, paediatrics, sports medicine and Indigenous health.

Dr Joseph Tamer

Joseph graduated from the Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 1994. Since relocating to Australia in 1997 Joseph has worked as a Career Medical Officer (CMO) at Forster Private Hospital. He then worked for 5 years in Adelaide at the Emergency Department of Gawler Hospital. Joseph has also worked as a Medical Director of the Australian Taekwando Team and is a member of the Australian Medical Soccer Team. His special interests include Sports Medicine, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Skin Cancer.

Dr Lucas Rouse

Dr Lucas Rouse graduated from the University of New South Wales. Working in Sydney Hospitals for seven years. Dr Rouse moved to Orange in 1981 where he commenced his General Practice, where he taught & mentored Medical Registrars for over ten years. Dr Rouse was instrumental in the establishment of the School of Rural Health of the University of Sydney in Orange & Dubbo, where he tutored and supervised Medical Students. Dr Rouse has a wealth of experience in General Medicine of over forty years. Dr Rouse has returned to the area where he worked with Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre during 2003 -2005. The practice is excited to welcome Dr Rouse back, his interests include Golf, Ocean swimming, bike riding and good health.

Dr Marike Janse van Rensburg

Marike obtained her medical degree from Stellenbosch University, South Africa in 2006. After this she completed a 2-year internship rotating through most of the medical and surgical specialities. Since then she has worked in Internal Medicine, General Practice, Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology. She has also completed her Diploma in Child Health and gained medical registration in the UK. She lived in Montreal, Canada for 2 years before relocating to Forster in 2019. She enjoys General Practice including Paediatrics, Women's Health and Oncology.

Dr Mohammed Hamdy

Dr Hamdy has graduated from Medical School in Egypt in 2010. He worked as a General Practitioner in Egypt for 5 years before migrating to Australia in 2017. He obtained his Master's degree in Dermatology and Sexual Health Medicine from Egypt in 2016 and completed his Australian Medical Council Certificate in 2017. Hamdy has been working in Bankstown Hospital in South Western Sydney for the last 2 years in Emergency, Respiratory, General Medicine and Paediatrics. He is working now towards achieving the fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Monika Schuch

Monika graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1987, and has been practicing with FTMC since 1988. She has special interests in Women's Health and General Wellbeing, General Medicine and Skin Conditions. Monika has been instrumental in developing the innovative Well Women's Clinic and the Youth Drop In service, both of which operate from FTMC.

Dr Sanjana Acharya

Sanjana graduated from Kathmandu University in 2006. Since migrating to Australia she has worked at St George Hospital, The Sutherland Hospital at Southern Sydney. Dr Acharya has had the opportunity to work in General Practice with communities at Albury, Griffith and Gloucester. Dr Acharya has also worked in Emergency, ICU, Paediatrics, Geriatrics, Orthopaedics and D & G Units during Hospital rotations. She is enjoying all aspects of General Practice. Coming from the land of the Himalayas she is loving the area and the coastal lifestyle.

Dr Sudipta Sarker

Sudipta accomplished his MBBS from Delhi University, New Delhi, India in 1997. After graduating, Sudipta completed his residency in Accident and Emergency, Ear, Nose and Throat department, Ophthamology, Nephrology, and General Medicine. He had also worked in some of the state of the art hospitals in India. In 2005 Sudipta obtained Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the renowned Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India. In 2007 he relocated to Australia after being directly recruited as one of the Senior Emergency Doctors at Griffith Base Hospital, NSW. Before moving to the scenic Manning Valley region Sudipta worked at Gosford Hospital for 4 years. This included working in the Emergency, Cardiology, Ear, nose and throat diseases, Paediatrics and Gynaecology departments. Sudipta accomplished his specialist training in General Practice and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Along with working at the Forster Tuncurry Medical Centre Sudipta also worked as a Career Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Manning Rural Referral Hospital, Taree, several years back. His special interests include Paediatrics, Eye, Ear, nose and throat diseases, various minor procedures, Travel medicine, Acute medicine, Dermatology and Chronic disease management. Sudipta loves enjoying a relaxed coastal lifestyle with family and friends and got actively involved in various voluntary works with the Rotary Club.

Jennifer Kent

Jennifer Kent (RPSGT) is a registered Polysomnographist and also a registered nurse. She has been a member of ASTA (Australian Sleep Technologists Association) since 2000. Jennifer Kent R.N. (RPSGT) is a registered Polysomnographist, as well as a registered nurse. Jennifer has been a member of ASTA, (Australian Sleep Technologists Association) since 2000. She has over 20 years of sleep diagnostic experience, including establishing and managing the Mayo Sleep Investigation Unit from 1998 to 2013. She is now the Laboratory Manager and Co-ordinator for the Mid North Coast Sleep Clinic. Jennifer works with patients setting them up for home studies, and analysing and reporting on the collected data. She also initiates patients with their CPAP therapy, including mask selection and fitting. Along with counselling for anxiety, claustrophobia, CPAP intolerance, and evaluation of the effect of pressure relief, Jennifer's knowledge and experience in sleep related disorders is an asset to the clinic.
