Alexandra grew up on a small acreage near Stonewall, Manitoba. Throughout her undergraduate degree, she worked as a legal assistant in her hometown and then joined SNJ in 2020 as a summer student. EDUCATION Alexandra obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in French from the University of Manitoba, graduating with Distinction in 2018. She was frequently on the Dean's List and received the University of Manitoba General Scholarship - Arts for being in the top 10% of students at the Faculty of Arts. She continued her studies at Robson Hall, Faculty of Law, completing the requirements for her Juris Doctor in 2021. In the summer of 2019, she attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and received a Travel Award for her academic performance. She was also the recipient of the Indigenous Student Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement and the Muriel St. John Research Award for Women's Legal Issues for her academic paper on the effects of intimate partner violence on mothers and children. She also received the Gerald W. Schwartz Gold Medal in Business Law for the graduating student in the Faculty of Law with the highest standing in the area of Business Law and the Schwartz/Reisman Scholars Program Award for students with a minimum degree grade point average of 3.75 who have demonstrated community involvement and leadership. Throughout her time at law school, she was actively involved in the Manitoba Law Students' Association, being a member of both the Accessibility and Academic Committees. She was also the President of the Robson Hall Mental Health Group, Vice-President Social Coordinator of the Manitoba Indigenous Law Students' Association and the French Representative for the National Indigenous Law Students' Association. Additionally, she was been a mentor with the Neechiwaken Indigenous Peer Mentor Program for 4 years. During her third year of law school, she was involved with the L. Kerry Vickar Business Law Clinic. Alexandra received her Call to the Manitoba Bar in 2022.

Gemma joined the Smith Neufeld Jodoin partnership on January 1, 2018. Gemma worked with the firm as a legal assistant from 1997 until she commenced her legal studies in 2005. She spent the summers of 2006 and 2007 as a summer student with the firm and articled with the firm in 2008-2009. Gemma received her call to the bar in May, 2009, and was an associate with the firm until joining the partnership. Education Gemma graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor of Laws in 2008. While attending Law School, Gemma received the class prizes for highest standing in Civil Procedure, Trademarks & Patents, and Municipal Law. Gemma offers creative solutions for her clients, whether it be in family business or farm transitions, owner-managed businesses, new entrepreneurs, first time home owners, or in wills and estate planning matters. Gemma enjoys working closely with clients and their professional advisors throughout various planning processes to ensure her clients are taken care of and that they understand their legal journey. Gemma was a board member with the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce, chairing the Business Development Committee for 6 years until November, 2017. She currently is an ad-hoc member of the Business Development Committee. Gemma was the co-chair of Revenue Generation with the host society of the 2016 Manitoba Summer games held in Steinbach.

Marcel became a partner at the firm in 1987 and is the senior civil litigation counsel at Smith Neufeld Jodoin LLP. EDUCATION Marcel graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in economics and then graduated from Law School in 1982. Marcel has been a guest speaker at the Law Society of Manitoba on a number of topics including law office management and computerization and is a member of the Manitoba Bar Association. Marcel also is a board member and director of the organization enVision Community Living and the President of enVision Foundation.

Mathieu first joined the SNJ family as an articling student in May of 2015. In May of 2016, after being called to the Bar, Mathieu remained a part of the SNJ team as an associate lawyer. EDUCATION Prior to working at SNJ, Mathieu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2009, he majored in Philosophy with a minor in Religion. He then graduated from the University of North Dakota Law School in December 2013. Mathieu is currently the Representative for Eastern Manitoba on the Law Society of Manitoba Board of Directors, he also acts as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Sara Riel Inc., is a Board member of the Sara Riel Foundation, and is a Board member of the Ste Anne Curling. He previously had been a member of the Board of the Aulneau Renewal Centre, as well as serving on the Law Society of Manitoba President's Special Committee on Health and Wellness. Bob was born and raised in Steinbach. He became a partner, along with John Neufeld, in our predecessor firm in 1978. Bob married his favourite nurse, Maggie. They now live in an empty nest as their three children, Jennifer, Julia, and Rob have all left Steinbach. Bob and Maggie are also the proud grandparents of Liam, Teddy, Lewis, Tommy, Margo, and Vera. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts degree (with a major in History) from the University of Manitoba in 1969. He received a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1973 (Juris Doctor degree in 2014) and was called to the Bar in 1974. Throughout his life, he has been extremely active in community affairs. Bob served as a Councillor for the City of Steinbach and has served on numerous boards, both as a member and as a chairperson. His passion is sports. He coached baseball, ringette, and hockey for many years. He also served as the manager of the Eastman AAA Midget Selects for two years. He recently sat on the board of the Steinbach Pistons Manitoba Junior A Hockey Team. He has also been involved with various City of Steinbach advisory committees, including the multiplex project. While enjoying golf in the summer, he can also sometimes be seen taking long walks with his wife Maggie.

Ronald E. Janzen

Ron articled in 1996 at a firm located at Portage and Main in Winnipeg, and remained as a lawyer at that firm until 2003. He then joined SNJ, and worked in Steinbach while assisting with John Neufeld's Niverville practice. Ron established SNJ's full-time office in Niverville in 2005 and enjoys providing legal services to Niverville and the surrounding communities. He has been a partner of SNJ since 2008. Ron's parent's came from Southern Manitoba farming backgrounds and Niverville is, in a sense, a return to his roots, where his maternal great-grandparents lived and were laid to rest. EDUCATION Ron has degrees from the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba, including his Juris Doctor.

Simon grew up in Lorette, Manitoba, the oldest of four sibling. He attended elementary school in Lorette and high school in Ile-des-Chenes. He spent several years going through the air force recruitment process to become a pilot before returning to school. He joined SNJ in 2021 as a summer student. EDUCATION Simon obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba with a major in German and a minor in Classical Studies. He graduated with distinction in 2019 and was frequently a Dean's Honour List student. In 2017/18, Simon studied German and Politics at the Universität Greifswald in Germany under a scholarship from the DAAD (the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst). In 2019, he served as a member of the Dean's Search Committee for a departmental hiring for the Department of German and Slavic Studies as the undergraduate student representative. In 2020, Simon was recognized as a Pitblado Scholar for his outstanding academic achievement in his first year as a law student. Simon was recognized with the Frank Billinkoff Prize for the highest standing for a third year student in the Wills and Succession course in June 2022. He was also one of the founders of the Robson Hall Bilingual Students' Association, acting as chair until his departure from law school. He received his Juris Doctor in June of 2022.

EDUCATION Trevor is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, having received his Bachelor of Commerce, Honours, degree in 1985. Upon graduation, Trevor became employed with Bristol Aerospace Limited in Winnipeg as a Contracts Administrator and continued working as such until he returned to University to study law. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Law degree in 1991 from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Trevor returned to Winnipeg where he articled and practiced law until he joined Smith Neufeld Jodoin.
