The purpose of the Policy Sub-committee is to engage with and respond to governments on issues affecting environmental outcomes in South East Queensland and to enhance EIANZ's profile through this professional engagement.
Alex is a transport professional with over 35 years of experience in technical, project management, strategy and management roles for consultants and corporates. He has led the National transport planning practice at global engineering consulting companies and was Transurban's inaugural Manager Traffic as the company delivered Melbourne CityLink and expanded to own multiple tollroads in Australia and the US. He now runs his own advisory practice.
In addition to the EIANZ NSW committee, Alex has been on the AITPM Victorian committee and is currently also - member of the Executive of his school collegians association.

Andrew is passionate about supporting people, businesses and organisations to be successful whilst they deliver outcomes for the environment and our community.
He has worked for a number of private businesses and government agencies over his 35-year career. Most recently he held a number of executive, non-executive director and advisory roles in private businesses that specialise across a range of environmental, heritage and earth sciences.
He has led and advised businesses to deliver strategic focus as well as cultural, operational and performance improvements. He has delivered and supported leadership development and have run staff development and mentoring programs.

Belinda has been a member of the EIANZ since 2014. Belinda is Director at Integrate Sustainability with over 20 years' experience in Environment, Safety and Sustainability in the Resource Sector. You may also know her from the Goldfields Environmental Management Group (GEMG) or the more recently formed Environmental Practitioners Network. Belinda hopes her passion and enthusiasm for networking and knowledge sharing drives a more inclusive EIANZ for all environmental practitioners.
Beth is a creative and innovative Project Manager with extensive experience in water and environmental sustainability and management projects; establishing partnerships, community consultation; reporting and relationship management. Beth's diverse skills in environmental management and program management make her a highly successful environmental lead on a wide variety of project.
Previously located in NSW, Beth has relocated to the NT to work on community focused and infrastructure enabling projects.

Bill Low has worked in environmental research and management since 1970 throughout the NT and adjacent states but specialising in Central Australia. In 1980, he founded Low Ecological Services, the longest running environmental survey business in the Northern Territory. His team of consultants has completed more than 700 major environmental monitoring projects for public and private companies, governments, NGOs and individuals. Bill has been involved with EIANZ since its inception, as well as several environmental, historical and heritage organisations in Alice Springs and the Territory, including The Rangeland Seminars, Land for Wildlife Central Australia and the National Trust. He competes in squash and Olympic-style pistol shooting.

David Johnson is a Sydney based environmental scientist with over 35 years experience in the professional environmental arena, in both private and public sector roles. He is a Fellow of EIANZ, a member for over 10 years and an Institute Board member for 2 years. After spending most of his career as a consultant in environmental management, impact assessment and contaminated sites.
David recently completed 6 years as a Member of the NSW Planning Assessment Commission. He is an environmental expert on three council planning panels, a sessional lecturer in environmental science and a former Acting Commissioner in the NSW Land & Environment Court. He now also chairs four Community Consultative Committees in regional NSW.
With over twenty years' experience as an environmental professional across government and private industry, Diane has an MBA and Master of Environmental Science and she is currently undertaking a PhD in social performance in mining through the University of Queensland. Diane has worked in environmental advisory and management, tourism planning and public policy in Australia, Europe, Africa, North and South America. She currently works within consulting and advisory services supporting companies in ESG related guidance associated with project development and funding.
Avanish has 20 years' experience in various facets of environmental engineering spanning consulting, industrial, academic and research fields. His professional experience spans environmental management, compliance auditing, project management, risk assessment, water and wastewater treatment, solid waste and organics, and air quality assessment. His doctorate research focused on low-cost treatment options for domestic organic waste and wastewater.
Avanish has held his Exemplar Global (RABQSA) accreditation as a Principal Environmental Auditor for over a decade. In addition to his current role at GHD where he is involved in environmental and quality auditing, project management of water infrastructure projects and environmental management reviews, he is also an adjunct senior lecturer with Griffith University and a contracted technical expert with JAS-ANZ.

Faith is a highly motivated, passionate and experienced environment and sustainability professional. She is well vast in environmental compliance, monitoring, management systems and sustainability within construction, recycling and oil and gas industries.
Her focus within the EIANZ NSW Division Committee alongside her responsibilities as treasurer, is promoting and supporting professional development events and opportunities for post-approval environmental management professionals.

Fiona is a passionate environmental impact assessment specialist with 25 years' experience. She is an advocate for continuing professional development and high professional standards, recognising the benefits of time away from everyday work at the coal face to expand professional knowledge. Fiona is the current Secretary of the Institute Board, a former President of the NSW Division, the inaugural Chair of the EIANZ Advisory Council, a Fellow of the Institute and a Certified Environmental Practitioner - Impact Assessment Specialist. She was awarded the EIANZ's May Lou Morris Award for outstanding service to the Institute at a Divisional level in 2016.

Greg is a GHD Principal with 28 years environmental consulting experience for both public and private sector clients in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Greg's expertise lies in the scoping and management of impact assessments for major infrastructure projects across the energy, urban development, water and transport industry sectors.
Greg is a NSW REAP and has been a member of EIANZ for over 14 years. Greg is responsible as the membership co-ordinator to the NSW Division committee. Greg loves bushwalking, yoga, ocean swimming and contributing his time to serve environmental and community causes.

I have over 18 years' experience environmental planning and impact assessment, both within government and industry. In this time I've worked on a diverse range of projects including large scale road, rail, energy and water infrastructure. This has included offshore wind projects in the UK, and renewable energy and oil and gas projects in Africa and Asia.
Having initially trained as an ecologist, I also maintain an ecological impact assessment role in my current position at AECOM. I'm keen to contribute my broad experience to strengthening the NSW Division of EIANZ for its members and the community.

Jane Munday is a community engagement and social impact assessment practitioner who has lived in the Northern Territory since 1994. She spent 10 years in senior government communication and marketing positions, established Michels Warren Munday in 2004 and sold the business (now True North Strategic Communication) in 2015. She works part-time with True North and is a PhD Candidate with the Northern Institute of Charles Darwin University. Jane is Deputy Chair of Territory Natural Resource Management, on the Attorney General's Community Benefit Fund and a national social impact assessment community of practice group of the EIANZ.

Jason is an Environmental Scientist working within the Environment and Heritage Team at Sydney Water. Jeff has a BSc (Hons) from James Cook University. He has worked for the Commonwealth and Western Australian Governments and as a consultant in policy, land management and science roles. In 2008, Jeff was peer nominated for Conservation Scientist of the Year in WA for his leadership in linking science with conservation practice and engagement in the south-west of Western Australia. As the Principal Consultant at EcOz Environmental Consultants in Darwin, Jeff retains his interest in environmental outcomes through community involvement in policy development and application. He has been an EIANZ member since 2012 and is on the EIANZ Advisory Council.

Josh is an Environmental Scientist with a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Environmental Science and Conservation Wildlife Biology with a Postgraduate in Environmental Assessment and Management. Josh and has been working in the resource, construction and infrastructure sectors since 2009.
Josh has a keen interest in pragmatic, yet appropriate, environmental management in Australia. Throughout his career, Josh has been heavily involved in approvals under various legislation, environmental management, compliance auditing and investigations and has worked with a range of stakeholders including Traditional Owners and several statutory authorities.

Kate is an environmental and government approvals specialist with over 20 years' experience in a variety of fields including renewables, mining, linear infrastructure, gas, and urban development. Kate has qualifications in environmental science, zoology, architecture, town planning, and law. She is a member of the Certified Environmental Practitioner Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee - Impact Assessment and the Environmental Accounting Special Interest Section of the EIANZ.
Kate is the Work Group Lead and Technical Director - Environmental Approvals in the AECOM WA Environment Team, and manages a team of over 20 Environmental Scientists, Ecologists, and marine scientists. Kate is passionate about mentoring early career professionals and leading workplace cultural development.

Kevin is the APAC Technical Director for Water and Environment for Cardno. Kevin has over 33 years' experience in environmental policy and management across Government, Infrastructure and Consulting and is a long term member of the EIANZ.
Kevin's focus within Cardno and more broadly across industry is to support implementation of good environmental practice in design, operation, rehabilitation and policy. He is keen to ensure that the next generation of environmental managers have the skills and credibility to more effectively influence outcomes as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

Lisa is a team leader in the Transport and Water Assessments team at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and has been a member of EIANZ for. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Biology)(Hons) and spent 10 years in consulting as an ecologist and project manager before jumping to the public service 23 years ago where she has been able to indulge her passion in infrastructure which changes how people go about their lives. Lisa has worked in environmental impact assessment across a broad range of sectors, including mining, road, rail, ports, water supply, wastewater management, flood management, energy generation and transmission. She currently manages multi-disciplinary teams to undertake credible and robust assessments of passenger rail projects, leading teams working on Sydney Metro and light rail projects. Her purpose in joining the EIANZ NSW committee is to provide public sector representation and encourage others to do the same. Despite what her membership details say, she's pretty sure she joined EIANZ back before the turn of the century while still a consultant. And she loves a laugh and to have fun while doing this stuff, so be prepared to hear about what her kids have done to annoy her this week and her tips for how to get out of an attempted carjacking situation.

Melissa has over 19 years of professional management experience and has spent the last 14 years specialising in Commonwealth and Western Australian environmental and heritage impact assessments and approvals. She has worked as a consultant and on the client side across the utilities, aviation, construction, mining and civil infrastructure industries. Melissa also undertakes risk and compliance management and assessment and is a qualified lead auditor with desktop verification, due diligence and field inspection experience. Melissa currently leads a team of highly experienced officers undertaking approvals and compliance assessments and management within a State government agency.

Mia is an assessment officer at the Supervising Scientist Branch of the Australian Government's Department of the Environment and Energy, which provides regulatory oversight of uranium mining in the Alligator Rivers region. Mia has been an EIANZ member since 2016 when she joined as a student while studying geography and environmental studies at the Australian National University.
Mitt is an environmental professional with 12+ years' experience in environment and heritage management ranging from planning, design, impact assessment and approvals to construction and project close out. He has a Bachelor of Science and Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment. Mitt is a strong proponent of using robust scientific data for decision making and sustainable development. Mitt joined the EIANZ in 2012 as a networking platform and the opportunity to collaborate with other environmental practitioners to influence policy, strategy and reconciliation.
Natalia is a Sustainability & Environmental specialist with a Bachelor of Environmental Science from James Cook University (Qld) and a Masters in Sustainability & Climate Policy from Curtin (WA). Natalia has lived and worked around Australia in environmental management, compliance and corporate sustainability for various sectors, including corporate businesses, construction, and consulting. Most recently, Natalia spent a couple of years in local government managing the environment and sustainability function at Shellharbour City before joining RARE Environmental as a technical lead in their new business stream for sustainability and compliance.

Rebecca has over 16 years' experience in ecology and has been involved in a large number of ecological studies of varying scales throughout Australia. She is currently working as the NSW Team Leader (Botany) at Biosis, and is an Accredited Assessor under the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme. She is also experienced in providing expert evidence in the Land and Environment Court.
Rebecca has highly developed skills in research, project management, problem solving and effective communication, and these skills are complemented by her field skills with plant community type mapping and threatened flora and fauna surveys, on a variety of small and large scale projects. She also sits on the EIANZ Biodiversity Offsets Community of Practice Committee.

Rhidian has over 25 years' experience as an ecologist and project manager, including internationally in southern Africa and Pakistan. His experience includes threatened species management, biodiversity reserve management planning, biodiversity offset site establishment, ecology impact assessments and project management.
He is an Accredited Assessor under the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme and has particular experience in developing sophisticated biodiversity offset strategies. Rhidian is currently the President of the NSW Division, having been the Vice President for two years prior to that. He is passionate about professional development and ensuring that environmental practitioners are operating to the highest standards, and that legislation and policy are achieving the environmental standards they are intended for. He has participated as a mentor in the NSW mentoring program for the last two years.

Rob is an outcomes-focused environmental professional with about 20 years of experience across both the private and public sectors in resources, renewable energy, construction and water. Rob has worked across the lifecycle of resource projects in Australia and Europe, from EIA and approvals through to closure and rehabilitation. From 2014 to 2020 Rob worked for the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation in project, program and senior management roles. More recently, Rob's focus has been on assisting renewable energy clients with responsible project development to assist with decarbonisation in WA. He is currently the WA Regional Manager at Umwelt Environmental and Social Consultants.

Rupert is an environmental engineer with post graduate qualifications in Environmental Science and Engineering Geology. He has 16 years' experience as a Business Manager, Project Manager and Environmental Scientist, with a further 10 years as a Geotechnical Engineer responsible for the delivery of projects in the civil (infrastructure, residential, industrial), mining, oil and gas sectors. He has worked on and managed projects in numerous locations across Western Australia plus in South Africa, Botswana, Oman, UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Qatar, Chile and South East Asia.

Sarah is an ecologist with more than 10 years' experience working in environmental consulting in the Northern Territory. Her experience includes environmental approvals, environmental and biodiversity management planning and implementation, mine closure, rehabilitation and monitoring. Sarah has a PhD in zoology and eight years' post-doctoral research experience resulting in more than 25 scientific publications.

Sophie is an environmental professional with 10 years experience in mining and industry with a particular focus on environmental impact assessment and approvals. Sophie completed a BSc (Hons) in Conservation Biology and a MSc in Environmental Management and is a strong advocate for using scientific data to support environmental impact assessments. She has worked on projects right across the State acquiring a unique knowledge of the environmental values in WA. Sophie joined EIANZ for networking and to learn from other professionals. She hopes to contribute to the continued learning experience for new environmental professionals through being the Student and Early Careers champion.

Tahlia is a Certified Environmental Practitioner with over twelve years' experience in the resource industry. She has worked in the gold, nickel, iron ore, oil and gas industries and currently holds the title of Approvals Specialist for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Tahlia has a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and has completed further study in workplace health and safety and auditing. Tahlia joined the EIANZ with the hope to contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental management and policy development.

Tom has a degree in Natural Resource Management (BSc Hons) from the University of Western Australia. He has worked as an Environmental Consultant in the Northern Territory since 2003 and is currently a Managing Consultant at EcOz Environmental Consultants in Alice Springs. Tom's main areas of expertise is ecology and environmental impact assessment for project located within central and northern Australia. He has been an EIANZ member since 2007 and has been the NT Division Treasurer since 2010.
Tony has been on the NT Division committee since 2019. He is currently working to deliver the Nature Repair Market being progressed by the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. Tony spent 10 years in international trade including trading in the North American financial markets before transitioning to work in risk management at ANZ's head office. His move to Darwin arose from the opportunity to manage commercial banking in the Northern Territory for ANZ. In 2011 he joined the NT Government to promote investment opportunities and major projects. He completed a Master of Environmental Management at Charles Darwin University which has included field work in the Galapagos Islands, the Brazilian Amazon, and in the Otway Basin off the Victorian coast. He joined the Commonwealth in late 2022, and has been assisting with evaluating policy and legislative options to progress the Nature Repair Market, and is now focused on implementation and market development.

Travis is an early career Environmental Consultant at ADE Consulting specialising in Contaminated Land Management. Travis has over a year of experience in the industry conducting contaminated site investigations and working with clients to manage risks, regularly working in the field and at a desk. He has had experience on major infrastructure projects including multiple NSW motorways and Sydney Metro sites as well as legacy sites for local councils such as regional gasworks and historic landfills.
Travis also sits on the EIANZ Students and Early Careers Committee as the NSW representative.

Zoe is a Manager within the Environment and Planning team at Aurecon, with a degree in Environmental Engineering from UNSW. Her main expertise is in undertaking environmental impact assessment across the full project lifecycle, particularly for large road, rail and transmission line infrastructure projects.
She also has experience working in contaminated land management. She is the current Vice President of the NSW Division and has previously spent her time on the NSW Division Committee focusing on developing and running events for Students and Early Career Practitioners, including the annual mentoring program.
Zoe is an environmental practitioner who developed her passion for the environment through spending plenty of time outdoors. Currently working as a Principal Environmental Scientist with Stantec, Zoe leads a range of environmental impact assessments on complex industrial, road, water, sewer and waste projects. She has a keen interest in water resource and catchment management and securing reliable water supplies.
Her career has included time managing environmental projects with Cardno, Arcadis, Sydney Water, the Australian Government Environment Department, the Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority and Non-Government Organisations. Zoe strives to undertake robust environmental assessments that promote improved environmental outcomes. Her key focus on the EIANZ NSW Division Committee will be developing and running events that share knowledge and generate enthusiasm in the environment industry.
