DOWNWINDERS PROGRAM - Key Persons

Laura J. Taylor Turner

Laura J. Taylor Turner, originally from the Midwest, has been a licensed attorney in Arizona since April 2000. Her journey with the Radiation Exposure Compensation Program began in 2002 when she recognized the unmet need for legal representation in this field. This realization came as many victims were left without representation and were growing frustrated. Since then, Ms. Taylor Turner has successfully submitted thousands of claims to the Department of Justice, covering various categories, including Downwinder claims, On-Site Participant claims, and Uranium Worker claims. Her vast network has provided access to historical information from lesser-known sources that is not readily available to the public. Each client's claim receives personal attention from Ms. Taylor Turner to ensure a swift and efficient process. Thanks to the strong relationships she has built with Department of Justice staff, clients can be confident that their claims will be prioritized and handled with the utmost care. Ms. Taylor Turner has been an active speaker on the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) in Arizona. Her expertise has been acknowledged in publications and documentaries, recounting her and her clients' experiences with the program. In 2003, she addressed the National Academy of Sciences representatives in St. George, Utah, advocating for the inclusion of areas in Arizona, particularly Mohave County, that were not initially covered under the Program. Recently, Ms. Taylor Turner was featured on local Channel 13's "Progressive Women in Yavapai County." Ms. Taylor Turner is available for speaking engagements regarding the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).
