ÅSA JÄGER

Despite her young age, Swedish soprano Åsa Jäger is already being hailed as one of today's leading Brünnhildes, following in the tradition of legends like Birgit Nilsson and Nina Stemme... Born in Holmsund in northern Sweden and now based in Vadstena, Åsa graduated with honors from the University College of Opera in Stockholm in 2015. Her international breakthrough came with her role debut as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre at Landestheater Coburg in 2022, followed by Siegfried in 2023. In 2024, she made her Swedish Wagner debut as Senta in The Flying Dutchman at Gothenburg Opera-earning the Opera Award from Tidskriften Opera.
