Alicia made the move from Shreveport, Louisiana to the Rocky Mountain State of Colorado in 1991. She has found a home working in family law since 2008. She finds great satisfaction in her role of helping clients navigate the often-chaotic transition of divorce, which is one of the most challenging times in a person's life. Alicia is led by a strong altruistic drive to serve others, and she makes sure everyone she works with is cared for from the very start of working with Jones Law Firm, PC.
Alicia attended the University of Houston and Red Rocks Community College with a focus on psychology.
What you might not know: When she is not serving clients, Alicia enjoys mixing electronic music and learning about the mysteries of ancient history. She can also be found writing blogs and attending live music. Although she has lived in Colorado most of her life, she has never been camping!

David has been a practicing attorney in Colorado since 2004, with a background in criminal, immigration, and family law. Prior to becoming an attorney, David spent the 1990's working with and on behalf of children in a variety of settings including preschools, after school programs, residential youth programs, and during his two years of service with the AmeriCorps program.
David's decades of working with and on behalf of children and families is central to his family law practice. He believes that helping folks navigate through what is one of the most stressful events of their life can be of great benefit to both the parents getting divorced and the children impacted by the process. Emily Sturgill joined Jones Law Firm PC in April 2019. Up until early fall of 2022, she drove excellent client experience as a Client Relationship Specialist. As a client relationship specialist, her role at the firm was to consult with new potential clients to better understand them and their unique situations, while also introducing the potential client to the works of family law and the operations of Jones Law Firm, PC.
As of late 2022, Emily is still driving client success through the innerworkings of the intake and client engagement teams. As the director of client engagement and marketing, she ensures that new and returning clients are guided seamlessly through the intake and onboarding process. All client relationship specialists are trained to dedicate time during every consultation to explaining how the team at Jones Law Firm can help and guide potential clients through the process of retaining the firm and what services will best suit their case. Emily received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 2014 from Colorado State University. She has always loved working closely with and connecting to clients and has stayed focused on driving Client Experience for over 10 years.
What you may not know: Emily is from Chicago, IL, but has lived in Colorado since 2005. Her hobbies include spending time with her son, husband, family and friends. She loves working on DIY home projects, reality TV, and singing bad karaoke.
Jessica Crawford is a passionate family law attorney from Houston, TX. She attended the University of Houston and South Texas College of Law. She has been practicing law since 2019.
Jessica comes from a unique family structure herself. One of her earliest memories is standing in front of a judge to have her last name changed to "Crawford" after her parents got married. She was just three years old at the time. Decades later, Jessica is committed to helping families create the best structures for their unique situations.
What you may not know: Jessica enjoys helping her community learn about the laws that impact their daily lives. She has offered legal analysis for local ABC, CBS, and FOX affiliates across the nation. She also loves to read thrillers and is always on the hunt for the next great restaurant.
Jimena prides herself on her innate ability to relate to her clients and provide zealous representation even when the odds are against them. As a former criminal defense attorney Jimena is accustomed to an adversarial system that requires deft negotiation skills and passionate advocacy for her client's rights. She understands that every client is facing a unique set of obstacles and approaches each one with the strategy best suited to accomplish each client's objectives.
Jimena grew up in New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado - Boulder, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Minor in Italian Language studies. Jimena then attended Boston University School of Law where she graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2020. Jimena received the Humanity in the Law prize for her extensive work with marginalized and underrepresented communities. After completing her law degree Jimena returned to Denver to be closer to her family, sunshine, and the beautiful mountain views.
Jimena began her career as a Public Defender with the Office of the State Public Defender in Arapahoe County. As a Public Defender Jimena learned the importance of empathy when representing clients. Jimena litigated hundreds of cases from inception to resolution, including a variety of jury trials. Jimena is not one to shy away from litigation but has learned that sometimes the best outcomes are the ones negotiated prior to trial.
Jimena is the daughter of Argentinian immigrants. Throughout her career Jimena has specialized in the representation of immigrant and Spanish-speaking communities. Fluent in Spanish, her ability to speak with clients in their native language has immensely impacted her ability to build trust and assure clients that they are being heard and understood.
What you may not know: Jimena is an avid cook and loves to try new restaurants. Food is a central part of her Latin heritage, and she takes every opportunity to feed the people she cares about. Jimena is an enormous futbol fan. Her favorite team is the Argentinian National Team, who she has seen play live on half a dozen occasions. On the weekends Jimena loves spending time with her partner, catching up on the latest reality tv shows, and trying out new recipes.

Marina has called Colorado home her whole life, beginning in Thornton, CO. She enjoys summertime activities: hiking, camping, boating, wake surfing, concerts, mountain adventures, and time with friends and family.
Being able to bring peace and relief to clients and families who navigate such tough life situations is fulfilling work for Marina. Her child protection and social work background have really opened her mind and eyes to the reality of our world through the lens of children who are our most vulnerable populations in need of as much love and support they can get.
Marina has worked in the Child Protection & family law worlds since 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with an emphasis in child development, a Minor in Nutrition, a Public Notary certificate, and child protection caseworker certified. Monica was born in Dallas, Texas but moved to Colorado in 1995 and considers herself a Colorado native. Following graduation, Monica followed her passion for competitive athletics by coaching youth teams varying in age and skill level. Monica has worked in a legal capacity since 2011, and has held roles as legal assistant, paralegal and senior paralegal with a focus in tax law and family law. Monica is a Certified Notary Public and has extensive experience and knowledge within the family legal field.
Monica is experienced in assisting the attorneys with strategic planning and case management for each legal matter. Monica chooses family law as her focus, as she enjoys working closely with each client to address their specific needs.

Morgan Terrell is an honest and compassionate attorney whose priority is open, client-centered representation. Although originally from St. Louis, Morgan has considered Colorado her home since moving here in 2001.
Morgan began her law career in 2014 with the Colorado State Public Defender's Office representing indigent clients charged with a variety of criminal offenses before transitioning into family law with Jones Law Firm. She has over six years of courtroom and litigation experience including numerous jury trials but has also negotiated countless favorable resolutions on behalf of her clients.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Political Science from Gonzaga University in 2011, and from the University of Colorado Boulder Law School in 2014.
What you may not know: When not working, Morgan enjoys every aspect of the Colorado outdoors including camping, skiing, hiking, and climbing mountains with her husband.

Patrick G. Barkman was born in Texas but moved to Colorado as soon as he could. Admitted to the bar in 1998, he has represented hundreds of clients primarily in the areas of Family Law, Criminal Defense, and Consumer Bankruptcy. In addition to all state courts in Colorado and Texas, Barkman is admitted to practice in the US District Court for the District of Colorado and the Northern District of Texas, the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the tribal courts of the Cherokee Nation. He has represented clients in criminal matters including misdemeanors, Federal crimes, and capital murder to name a few.
In his most memorable Family Law case, which received international media attention, Barkman successfully represented a mother in getting her seven children back from foster care after she was wrongfully accused of wrongdoing in the death of her adopted son.
He obtained his bachelor's degree in Political Science and his master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from Baylor University and his law degree from the University of Houston.
What you may not know: Barkman's wife is a nurse practitioner and a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Service. Between them, they have six children, five sons and one daughter. His hobbies include reading, writing, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and spending as much time as he can in independent bookstores.
