Concerned Methodists is a "Renewal" organization working within the United Methodist Church, urging it to greater biblical faithfulness to its Wesleyan heritage and standing firmly on the Judeo-Christian ethic which extends back for over 6,000 years. It seeks to inform motivated Christians in actions contributing to church reform, provide assistance, and emphasize Christian discipleship... Concerned Methodists was founded in 1990 as an informal organization by four men who were grieved about the priorities and direction of the denomination. At that time, they had been led to believe that they were the only ones with concerns about biblical infidelity, political activism, and misguided support of leftist governments/organizations in the international arena. Since that time, its founders have come to understand that there are hundreds of thousands of people with similar burdens, and that reform efforts extend across the entire United Methodist Church...
