OUTER BARKS

The Outer Barks was founded in 2000 by Robin & Kevin Carey. The Outer Barks was conceived to celebrate the human - canine bond... We share our lives with our four-legged kids: We moved to the Outer Banks in 1999 from Columbus, Ohio. Both of us worked at Ohio State (Kevin for 19 years, Robin for 3, then she worked for Ohio Health). We vacationed in the Outer Banks for many years and hated to leave, so we bought a beach house in 1996. That was not enough, we wanted to live in the Banks and shore our lives doing something fun. Hence, the Outer Barks was conceived in 1997 and opened in 2000. We now have over 1000 sq. feet of space filled with everything that says "I love my fur kid(s)"... Outer Barks - the number one destination on the Outer Banks for dog (and cat)lovers and their four-legged friends. We are home to the world famous Yappy Happy Hour!
