Serving the community since 1877, the Pontiac Fire Department is a dedicated public safety service of the City of Pontiac. Our mission is to provide high-quality fire protection, emergency medical services, and rescue operations to the residents of Pontiac and the surrounding areas... The Pontiac Fire Department safeguards a wide array of critical infrastructure and high-risk facilities. These include the Illinois Department of Corrections - Pontiac Prison, the Livingston County Jail and Courthouse, and the Illinois State Police District 6 Headquarters. We also protect approximately seven miles of Interstate 55, Amtrak rail lines, and the Pontiac Municipal Airport.
