We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center between San Francisco and the South Bay and hold designations as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. We are a transfer center for facilities across and beyond the state of California that need specialized expertise. Stanford has also been designated by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 2 Geriatric ED in recognition of our best practices, education, resources and support for the special needs of our older patients...
