M.E.D. Community Thrift Store is a division of Foundation for Educational Development, Inc., a non-profit organization, supported entirely by tax deductible gifts from churches, civic groups, corporate donations, grants, foundations, individuals and planned giving. M.E.D. Community Thrift Store derived from a very dear business partner and trusted friend, Mary Eleanor Diener. She was the inspiration for a community development program such as this. In honor of her memory the name was dedicated in her memory. I also had a desire to play an intricate role in the community. I felt compelled to begin my endeavor with a Thrift store in Four Oaks, NC. This was my way of giving back to the community. During such time I met my business partner Lt. Billie Williams. He retired on June 29, 2012, after 34 years of a successful career in Law Enforcement of which 23 years was with the Four Oaks Police Department.
