Our founder, Christopher Cotter, was born in 1891 in Cork Ireland, the youngest of 9 children. In 1910 he worked his passage as ships engineer on the steamer Ionic He founded C. F. Cotter Co in 1919 and the business thrived for decades at the central city location of 158 High St in Christchurch.
