AQUACON

Since 2015, we have been working together with the Ethiopian Transformation Agency (ATA) to map shallow groundwater resources that can be used for household irrigation of family farms. In five years, we have mapped 234,772 km 2, which is almost a fifth of the entire territory of Ethiopia. Verified groundwater resources are sufficient to irrigate 3,088,395 ha of 567,669 family farms, on which 6,176,898 live. The use of 0.5 - 1 l/s per farm is assumed.
