PORT ALFRED SOUP KITCHEN

Hello our readers. Time for an update on the happenings at the soup kitchen. We are managing to sustain feeding the destitute people of Ndlambe from week to week with the wonderful help of our community as well as from donations from overseas. The farmers who support us on an going basis have been amazing despite the lack of crops they have had over the last few months. We have had several new sponsors knock on our door and for this we are eternally grateful. Thank you for the continued support of the many local sponsors-Feathers Farms, Debonairs, Spar, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Wharf St Fruit and Veg as well as our local farmers to name but a few... We are currently providing some 3000 meals per week. Unfortunately due to the high costs we have now had to reduce the amount of bread and are only providing meals twice weekly as we are heading into dire financial straits. We are anxiously awaiting the results of our last application to Lotto for further assistance.
