Dr. McGuire was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from McGill University in 2010. She practiced as a general dentist in Ottawa for one year before completing post-graduate studies in Periodontology at the University of North Carolina. Dr. McGuire received a combined specialty certificate and Master of Science in Periodontology in 2014. Her research focused on exploring the pathogenesis of gingivitis and periodontitis at the molecular level. Dr. McGuire is board certified in both Canada (Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada) and in the United States (Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology). Dr. McGuire speaks English and French fluently.
Dr. Johnson completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1988 and has been in private practice in Ottawa since that time. He has been an active member of the medical staff of the Ottawa Hospital for over 30 years with operating privileges at the General, Civic and Riverside sites as well as Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital. He is currently a lecturer within the University of Ottawa Department of Medicine and involved with the training of Plastic and ENT residents. Dr. Johnson is licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario with a General and Specialty certificate for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Canadian Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Ontario Dental Society of Anesthesiology and Ottawa Dental Society. Dr. Johnson is a past president of the Ottawa Dental Society and served six years as a councillor to the Ontario Dental Association. He has been affiliated with the medical staff of the NHL Ottawa Senators hockey team since their inception in 1993. Dr. Johnson shares emergency call coverage for the Ottawa Hospital and donates his services with the treatment of patients served by the Civic Hospital's Adult Dental Clinic. Dr. Johnson attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto and was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry after completing two years towards his Bachelor of Science degree. In 1984 he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto and over the next year went on to complete a General Practice Residency in Hospital Dentistry at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Johnson received his oral surgery training in Winnipeg at the affiliated hospitals of the Manitoba Health Sciences Centre and the Faculty of Dentistry. He successfully completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program with the Department of Medicine and was awarded his Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Manitoba in 1988.
Dr. Turgeon received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Université de Montréal in 2009. He practiced as a general dentist in the Montreal region for two years before completing post-graduate studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Turgeon received a combined specialty certificate and Master of Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2014. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He has been a full-time associate professor at the Université de Montréal since 2014.
Dr. MacKay graduated with a doctor of dental medicine degree from McGill University in 2006. She then proceeded to complete a post-graduate training program in periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. MacKay received her specialty certificate in 2009.
Dr. Jacob Fitzgerald obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree as well as his Master of Science in periodontology from the University of Toronto. Through his education, Dr. Fitzgerald received several awards recognizing his exceptional passion for dentistry and his community, including the J. G. Bourassa Cup, Harold Keith Box Prize (Gold Medal), International College of Dentists Scholarship, Gordon Cressy Leadership Award, and more. Dr. Fitzgerald is a board certified periodontist and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He speaks English and French fluently.
Dr. Hamilton received her doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of Montreal in 2013, where she was awarded the A. Bernard Award for the highest overall academic and clinical standing in the dental program. She was also recognized with awards from the American Academies of Periodontology and Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hamilton then worked for two years in a rural general practice in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In 2015, she returned to postgraduate studies in periodontology at the University of Minnesota, where she received her Certificate in Periodontology. She is Board Certified in Canada and the United States, and is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Dental Associations, the Ottawa Dental Society and the American Academy of Periodontology. Prior to her dental training, Dr. Hamilton attended the University of Ottawa Health Sciences program. She is fluently bilingual in English and French, and enjoys downhill skiing and water sports.
Dr. Fung obtained her postgraduate specialty in Periodontics from the University of Connecticut, a leading institution in the US Northeast, following her Doctor in Dental Medicine degree from McGill University. She also holds a Masters of Public Health, focused on oral cancer prevention and screening. Combining practical skills in periodontics with academic research, she is the author of several publications in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as a book. Her research ranges from the unique dental issues of patients with Down syndrome, to long-term prognoses of immediate dental implants. Dr. Fung is board certified in both Canada (Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada) and in the United States (Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology). She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the National Dental Examining Board of Canada. Originally from Peterborough, Ontario, Dr. Fung is also fluent in English and French.
Dr. Lyon Hamburg is a bilingual endodontist who grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Hamburg completed both his Bachelors of Science degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery from McGill University. In 1987 he completed a general practice residency program at the Montreal Childrens Hospital. He was awarded a postgraduate specialty certificate from Tufts University in Boston in 1991. Following graduation he continued to practice in Boston and was a part-time clinical instructor at The Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. In 1991 he relocated to Ottawa to start his private practice and was the staff endodontist at CHEO from 1991 until 2019 when he limited his practice solely to his clinic . He has been a frequent guest lecturer at local dental study groups, as well as the McGill University dental school. He is an active member in the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association and the Ontario Society of Endodontists and a past president of the Ottawa Dental Society.
Dr. Rapp is a bilingual dentist and completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Doctor of Dental Surgery at McGill University in 1990. He practiced general dentistry in Ottawa before entering Temple University in Philadelphia, where he completed his post-graduate certificate in Endodontics in 1993. Since 1993, Dr. Rapp has practiced endodontics in Ottawa, and has been on staff at the Ottawa General Hospital (Civic campus) from 1993 until 2010 where he treated patients whose needs could not be met in the setting of a private clinic. He has lectured locally to dental study groups in the Ottawa area on root canal procedures and advancements in techniques. He is an active member in the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association and the Ontario Society of Endodontists and a past President of the Ottawa Dental Society. He has also served as an Ottawa counsellor for the Ontario Dental Association.
Elsaraj, also known amongst his colleagues and patients as "Dr. E", is a graduate of the 2010 DMD program at the University of Manitoba. Dr. E has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Carleton University and a Masters of Science degree in Oral Biology from the University of Manitoba. <br/><br/> In 2012, he completed a year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology program at the University of Toronto. He is a published author in well-respected scientific journals. Dr. E has over 400 continuing education hours in Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders and Dental Sleep Therapy and holds a PhD in Craniofacial Pain and Health Sciences from McGill University. He currently supervises residents of the Orofacial Pain Clinic in the Jewish General Hospital. Dr E is an active member of the Canadian, Manitoban, Ontario Dental Associations and the Order des Dentistes du Quebec. Dr. E is currently serving on the CDA and ODA council, Ottawa Dental Society Continuing Education committee, Nepean Political Contact dentist, a consultant for the Oral Health Group and an advisor for the Canadian Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines.
Dr. Wayne has been a practicing oral surgeon in Ottawa, ON, for more than 30 years and brings experience and a friendly approach to his dental care and oral surgery services. Dr. Wayne completed his graduate and post-graduate studies in dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Toronto. He is also an attending staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the Ottawa Hospital and has courtesy staff privileges at the Almonte General Hospital. Dr. Wayne specializes in oral surgery and oral pathology and works primarily with patients dealing with oral pain, dental disease, jaw misalignments, and other oral conditions. He works closely with each patient. He's committed to answering all of your questions and can help you make an informed decision about how to proceed with dental care in a way that improves your oral health and suits your personal preferences.
Dr. Demers earned his dental medicine degree from McGill University in 2019. He then practiced as a general dentist before initiating a specialty training in periodontics at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg which was completed in 2023. He is a member of international organizations such as the Academy of Osseointegration. A Montreal native, he speaks both English and French fluently, and strives to keep improving his Spanish and Portuguese skills. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Demers has a passion for hockey, fishing, and the great outdoors.
