GRIFFITH VET HOSPITAL - Key Persons

Dr. Amritha Lala

Job Titles:
  • Veterinarian
Hi, I'm Dr. Amu. I graduated with BVSc & AH from Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India, and further completed my Masters in Tropical Veterinary Medicine from James Cook University, Australia. I passed my Australasian Veterinary Examination in 2023 and am working towards my clinical examination later in 2024. I started out as a mixed animal practitioner in Kerala, India and went on to work at an ambulatory service, taking care of mainly cows and goats. I decided to move to Australia in 2022 to complete my Masters and along the way passed the AVE examination as well. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Mark for giving me the opportunity to work with this wonderful team at GVH! I've grown up with animals and it was always my dream to work with animals of all kinds. I enjoy working with wildlife and exotics and Australia has opened a different world of wildlife for me. I have two beautiful rescue babies of my own, a 6-year-old Golden Retriever and a four-year-old Husky back home in India. The hardest part is staying away from them but thanks to my profession I get to work with fur babies every day! Apart from my passion for Vet Medicine I enjoy painting and sketching, and like trying new art forms and DIY projects. I also love to cook and enjoy spending time with friends and family during my days off.

I'm Lisa, the General Manager of our Australian Veterinary Hospitals group. I take care of our practices and amazing team members in Wagga, Junee, Griffith, Temora, Cootamundra and Corowa. I started working for Dr. Mark while I was at high school in the '90s and left in 2000 to embark on a few new adventures and start a family. In 2008 I returned in the role of the veterinary nurse and shortly after to the position I am in now. I have always been drawn to animals and how each pet is unique in how they think, feel and behave around people. My 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses are always happy to see me and make me feel special, especially on days when I am feeling down and out. I have chosen to work in this field so I can give back to people and through their precious pets. By helping pet owners keep their pets happy and healthy as long as they possibly can, they can have the same loving relationships with their pets as I have with mine. I stand by our vision by dedicating my career to "enriching your life through the joy of pets".

Nicole Debaecker

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager
I have been working with Dr Mark Sayer for the last 16 years and every moment within the job has been amazing! Working in Mark's team has been full of wonderful memories and experiences. I have worked in all of our clinics over the duration of my employment, firstly in Wagga, then managing Corowa and now in Griffith. I am pleased to be back in my home town again after leaving about 11 years ago, and it's so nice to be close to family and old friends. Veterinary nursing is such a wonderful profession and there are so many rewarding aspects of the job. I am blessed to be doing something I love every single day! Caring for pets is so rewarding, and meeting their owners is equally so. I'm always thrilled to meet loving pet owners, and to offer assistance and peace of mind through pet care. I am also a keen advocate of puppy school, which we offer at the clinic. I am very passionate about helping owners get their new puppy started off on the right paw to ensure they grow into well-adjusted and sociable dogs. When I'm at work I enjoy the company of our clinic cat, the Crazy Calli Cat! Check out her antics in Calli's Corner, her own personal blog. When I'm at home I have the company of four cats of my own; Mishka, Evie, Toulouse and Apollo, and my beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog Heidi. At the beginning of 2017 my partner and I had our first human baby! Ryan was born on the 11th January 2017, a day before my 28th birthday, and he was best birthday present ever! I love being a mum! Ryan can sometimes be seen at clinic with me 'helping'. He looks to be taking after his mum as he just loves animals, especially his own cat Toulouse. When he is sick or sad we can always cheer him up by watching the cats' funny antics.

Samantha Blomeley

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tash Mccormack

Job Titles:
  • Veterinary Nurse
Hi I'm Tash. I grew up in a little place called Hillston which is where my love for animals began. I was always saving things growing up, the odd bird, kitten, lamb, etc., including some that didn't actually need saving but I thought I'd pretend they did anyway and bring them home. I have a passion for helping both animals and humans and have previously worked in aged care and disability. I am currently studying my certificate in Veterinary Nursing and hope to go on to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse. I very much enjoy being in surgery and helping to save a life in an emergency. It's truly rewarding! I have a beautiful little 3-year-old girl named Lily who takes up most of my spare time, along with my many dogs at home. Lily has a big love for animals too and just might follow in her mum's footsteps!
