UEMS IR DIVISION

The UEMS IR Division was founded in 2009 as a subspecialty of the Radiology Section and has since then embarked on its mission to set standards for the training and education of IR physicians and continues to support the development and interests of interventional radiology specialists... The UEMS IR Division Delegates and its Executive Board unite in their strong desire to establish Interventional Radiology as a recognised subspecialty of Radiology in all European countries. The UEMS IR Division's aim is to work toward the harmonisation of IR training and competency testing throughout Europe and advocates establishing high treatment standards to maximize patient safety. The UEMS IR Division seeks to achieve its goal by closely collaborating with the UEMS Radiology Division and also other interest groups in the field of IR, like the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE), the national IR societies and the European Society of Radiology (ESR).
