Ms. Skyler is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at American Express. In this role, she oversees global public affairs and media relations, social media, colleague communications, reputational risk management, and corporate sustainability. Ms. Skyler is a member of the company's Executive Committee, as well as Chair of the American Express Foundation. She is passionate about the work her team does to enhance the brand and tell stories of how American Express is backing our colleagues, customers, and communities. Before joining American Express, Ms. Skyler served as Chief Communications Officer at WeWork, where she built the multi-disciplinary department from the ground up. Prior to that, she worked at Facebook, where she launched the company's consumer communications and data science groups and led press strategies around key products and partnerships. Ms. Skyler began her career in newsrooms, first at CNN, where she started as an executive assistant and later became a White House producer. She also worked with Norah O'Donnell at MSNBC and Katie Couric at the CBS Evening News as part of an Emmy-nominated team. Ms. Skyler has been named to PRWeek's Power List of top communicators and PRovoke Media's Influence 100 list. She serves on the boards of the Institute for Public Relations, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Spence School and is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with major in Communications Studies and a concentration in Japanese.
