ABTEC is one of the pioneer organizations to establish a Microbial Inoculant Bio-fertilizers and Bio-control Agents production unit in India. The commercial production started during the year 1993 at Industrial area, Poovanthuruthu, Kottayam-686012, Kerala. Initially it was concentrated on production of Bio-fertilizers such as Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Rhizobium, Phosphobacteria, VAM, PGPR I, Bio-Potash. Subsequently, Bio-control agents Trichoderma Sp., Pseudomonas fluorescence, Chitin induced Pseudomonas, PGPR II, Beauvaria bassiana, Bacillus subtilis, Verticillium lecanii, Btk, Paecilomyces, Metarhizium also added. During the year 2011, National Horticulture Mission-NHM (Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India) sanctioned a grant to expand and modernize our laboratory & production system.
