Around thirty-five years ago, and after studying business marketing, like many procurement specialists who fell into that field somewhat by accident, I found myself starting-out on what became a long and successful career in Procurement... Along the way, I had gained an MBA from Birmingham University in Strategy and Procurement Management (including becoming a visiting lecturer on the same programme) and secured Accredited Trainer status from the Harvard/MIT's ‘Program on Negotiation'... Thereafter, I took the leap into consulting and training, supporting organisations across many sectors, including clients Compass Group, GlaxoSmithKline, Royal Mail, The UK's Office of Government Commerce, Rolls Royce (again), Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Kuehne & Nagel, BP, Barclays, Arriva, JATO, Network Rail, Raytheon Systems, BP, HSBC, Husky Energy, Lloyds Banking Group, Swiss Post, and many others.
