CALIFORNIA PUBLIC BANKING ALLIANCE

The California Public Banking Alliance (CPBA) is a coalition of public banking advocates founded in 2018 to build socially and environmentally responsible public banks in California. In 2019, we led the passage of the California Public Banking Act (AB 857), making California the first state in the nation to enable municipal public banks... The California Public Banking Alliance is supported by hundreds of organizations throughout the state, including national, regional, and community-based groups.
