Before becoming a ‘Sales Engineer' at the start of 2021, I worked in senior commercial leadership roles within Marketing agencies and led a pan-European commercial team at Brandwatch, a leading social listening and insights SaaS company. Having worked across industries including automotive, healthcare, financial services, IT and software, I bring a broad mix of experience and perspective to the challenges our clients face. John Toal

Job Titles:
  • Strategic Sales Consultant
I started my career as a production engineer who then thought a move into sales would be easy - surely anyone can do that? Many years later, I'm still learning that sales is a science that has to be learnt, not a case of turning up and hoping for the best. Over those years, I have built a tool kit of techniques, methods, and processes to offer the best chance of success for any company or client I work with.

Matt Iveson

Job Titles:
  • Business Development Director
You could say that my involvement with the business goes back to 1995, which is when I first met co-founders Steve Robinson and Simon Morton when we worked together at a great organisation that was the perfect place to learn the ways of the commercial world, the alums of which have gone on to do many great things in the world of commerce. "That early introduction to the world of selling set me on a career I've highly enjoyed over many years. During that time, I've worked in various companies, from micro-SMEs to multibillion-dollar corporations. I've sold solutions to problems such as how to efficiently open mail in a post room to the complex cloud and SaaS solutions that use advanced data and analytics to manage regulatory credit risk for banks." Tim Misson - COO

Job Titles:
  • Operations Director
I've actually worked at Sales Engine twice - the first time several years ago as a consultant before returning in 2019. It seems the pull of working with such a great team was too great, and this definitely feels like my spiritual home. Before Sales Engine, I spent six years running my own business development company, and I've also worked in IT and software, in sales management and enablement roles. One of the common threads throughout all these roles, aside from sales, obviously, is that they've always been quite pioneering - I've never slotted into a position vacated by someone else, and I've always had to throw myself in at the deep end and create the job as I go. More often than not, this means introducing structure and process, and I suppose this is why I'm suited to my current role as Operations Director at Sales Engine. "Part of the beauty of working here is that every day is different. My work is incredibly varied; I'm definitely a ‘utility player'! From resource management and project delivery to partner and customer relationship management, keeping on top of the financials, creating content and collateral, and developing the systems, structures and processes that allow Sales Engine to grow and scale."
