STONEY PHILBIN & COMPANY LIMITED - Key Persons
Carrie is our office manager, dealing with all manner of compliance and company secretarial reporting requirements. Coming from an HR background she has a lot of experience in the issues employers and employees can face, and how best to tackle them. Aligning nicely with her existing skills, she is also building her knowledge of payroll and works alongside Vikki on our PAYE tasks for clients.
Ever cheerful, she enjoys cold water swimming (yes, that means lakes, even in winter!), spending time with her dog, and is often found agonising over her sandwich order.
Ellen has worked her way through the ranks having been with the office since 2005. Prior to this she had worked in various accounting and finance roles for several years and had obtained her AAT qualification.
For her sins, she continued her professional qualifications and is a full and practicising member of the ACCA. This means you can be confident that the advice we provide is in accordance with the ethics and high professional standards of one of the key accounting bodies.
She enjoys reading (usually scandinavian detectives in roll-neck sweaters) socialising (especially where wine is involved) and the occasional swim.
Fern is the newest, and possibly most glamorous member of our team. She is responsible for our clients' regular bookkeeping and VAT compliance obligations in addition to preparing statutory accounts and building her knowledge of relevant taxation issues.
She acts as a point of contact for those who need support with their Xero package - as a very experienced user of the package she can help resolve all manner of issues and queries.
A keen gym-goer who enjoys socialising and eating cake, she also dreams of one day having a house full of cats.
Sam has been looking after our valued clients since 2009 after graduating with his degree in Economics and French. He has continued to increase his knowledge base, becoming a member of the ATT and currently studying towards exams to gain Chartered Tax Adviser status.
He is able to advise on all aspects of personal and corporate taxation, with particular experience in capital gains tax. He can also help with queries relating to accounts, VAT and PAYE.
He is a regular rugby player, and enjoys justifing his brain full of useless knowledge at the pub quiz. As a Derby County season ticket holder, he considers this his only poor life choice.
Vikki is our resident bookkeeping, payroll, workplace pensions and VAT specialist. As well as making sure everybody meets their compliance obligations, she can assist you with your PAYE and VAT queries, being familiar with the various VAT schemes and issues often encountered by employers.
She enjoys fishing and kayaking, sometimes even combining the two on her regular trips to North Wales. When she is not on the high seas, you might find her walking her dog around the High Peak.
