BORUNDA, PC - Key Persons

Jorge Borunda

Mr. Borunda's focus is civil litigation, handling all aspects of such litigation, from pre-suit investigation, to discovery, through trial and appeal, in practice areas ranging from personal injury to complex commercial to estate litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants. He began his legal career in 2000 as an associate in the Houston office of the New York-based Weil, Gotshal & Manges, L.L.P., handling a wide range of litigation matters in various practice areas, including products liability, complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy & reorganization, intellectual property litigation, and construction disputes. In that capacity, Mr. Borunda worked on such high-stakes matters as the Enron and PG&E bankruptcies and related commercial litigation, as well as representing companies such as General Motors and Bombardier in product liability litigation, often involving catastrophic injuries. However, Mr. Borunda felt compelled to use the skills he learned in law school and at Weil to help individuals who have been wronged or may be facing an unjust lawsuit, but who may not be able to afford the high hourly rates charged by large firms such as Weil. He departed Weil and began working at smaller firms until he felt he was ready to start his own. Today, Mr. Borunda works at Borunda, P.C., where he focuses his practice on representing individuals and businesses faced with significant legal problems in the areas of commercial litigation, personal injury litigation, and estate litigation. When he is not working, Mr. Borunda can usually be found looking at his teenage step-daughter rolling her eyes at him or chasing his 4-year-old twins around the house. Mr. Borunda is fluent in Spanish. Mr. Borunda is admitted to practice in all state courts in the State of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a proud member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
