NHAIA is a voluntary statewide trade association whos independent insurance producers are politically astute and are involved both locally and nationally. They monitor and affect insurance issues in Washington through their national government affairs staff on Capitol Hill. They also work to affect local insurance issues through their professional staff in Concord. NHAIAs political action committee, IPAC, is one of the most active local trade association pacs in the state... NHAIA was founded in 1899 with its primary office in Concord, NH. With the expansion of property casualty business and coverages, and to emphasize the members ability to work with multiple insurance companies the organization name was changed to NH Association of Independent Insurance Agents in 1964. A slight name variation followed in 1975 to adhere to the national association's name change, and in 2002 again to recognize the diversity and growth of its membership, the name was changed to Independent Insurance..
