MANNAPOTTERY - Key Persons
My inspiration comes from cultures all over the world, particularly from the surroundings where I was born and grew up in the northwestern Kurdistan area of Iran. Since childhood, I admired the history and design of the objects around me in our tiny town. Now part of Rabat, it was once part of the ancient Mannaean civilization.
As Thomas Merton says: "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." I began painting as a child.
I started telling stories of my Kurdish history with paint then, and continue today. Each of us lives withendless stories. I believe we will enjoy our lives more when we understand our own stories and each other's stories. In my painting, every shade of color has a story. And the world has endless tones of color.
